I am grading some footage that was shot on my Dragon (I didn't set up the shot nor was I the DP) - of a night horseback ride. The horese were being followed by a truck as they rode away from the camera. Everything is fine but one of the horses horseshoe's is catching the light and becoming very distracting every time he lifts his foot. I tried to key it out but found it looked fake. Any suggestions would be great.

I'd try loading the shot up in After Effects, duplicating the layer, turn the top layer's opacity to 50%, and then advance it until the walk cycle of the horse on the left matched the horse on the right.

Then I would reposition the frame and mask in the hooves. Then it's a matter of animating and feathering the masks to match.

A tracking power window would fix it, basically flagging off the excessive light. We have to fix momentary glares and reflections all the time.
