The news that Steve has stepped down as Apple CEO sends ripples across the world. It implies that life is short. Things change. Make the most of what you have because it can go away as fast as it came.

I know Steve. I have met with him. I admire him. Steve has changed the world and set an example for all visionaries to follow. There are very few like Steve... Walt Disney is the only other one that comes to mind in my lifetime.

Businesses need visionaries. They don't need bean counters or "businessmen". Visionaries see beyond "what is". They envision what "can be" or "will be". Steve has done an amazing job of this. Hat's off.

I give my full respect and appreciation to Steve Jobs at this critical time in his life. I can only hope that his vision will carry Apple for many years to come. He has certainly inspired me.

Very well said. Very inspirational.
Thanks

the world needs more guys like Steve.

I hope he gets better soon.
After spending most of this last year in & out of the hospital myself & being away from my work, I can only imagine its got to be tough for him to have to step down.

True words!
I guess we all hope Apple will continue setting standards!
So RED also can be the top of the best and give a wide
audience the tools they are longing for!

I can't emphasize enough how much I recognize the impact and contribution of a visionary. They are rare indeed.

Jim

This post is all class. Many here have compared RED's Spirit to Apple's and we can sense where it came from. I'm sure many here at Reduser stand with you with hats off to Steve Jobs today.

Class, eloquence, as usual from the Red leader.

Thanks to you for being all of those things you mentioned in this post.

David

Steve is a really visionary man.

His main concept was to bring easy of use, small, affordable computers and mobile devices to the masses, to the people all over the world.

That's how he build the most valuable company in America today, surpassing Exxon Mobil.

He didn't care so much about so called "professional(s)", he cared more about an ordinary people to use high technology and he was really successful with that concept.

We can't forget recently a sort of "crying orchestra" of professional(s) about FCP X.

His vision insped many other companies to follow his way.

Hope that RED will back to its roots of affordable, small, easy of use, high resolution, with extended DR, digital cine and still in one camera products

to the masses with opening of its new Irvine Plant in a couple of days.

I'm very sad to see Steve Jobs resign as CEO of Apple. Say what you will about Steve but his drive, vision and passion remains perfectly evident, from the very beginnings of Apple to what Apple is today, nobody has done more for the growth of future commercial technology than Steve, Steve for me will always be Apple.

I agree, it's a real blow to see him step down.

I've said many times: Jobs profoundly changed the personal computer business, caused the transition of cell animation to digital animation, created the first successful download music and video business, perfected the portable music player, perfected the smartphone, and created a whole new market with the iPad. Any human being who did any one of these things would be considered a genius at business; the fact that he did all of these is absolutely astonishing.

Well said Jim. It is indeed a sad day for Steve Jobs, his family and of course Apple, I've never met him but from everything I've seen, heard and read he was inspirational. I wish him well.

I agree, I really admire Steve Jobs, profoundly. One of my favorites, I still hear the speech he did for Stanford graduating students, I never get tired of listening to it, So inspiring, he's a roll model. Hats off to Steve Jobs. Along with very few visionaries to my personal opinion, JIM you are one of them, what you are doing with your company RED, the quality, the hard work and the products (EPIC) you are putting out there are remarkable. I feel, I know and I hear from yourself that you are just getting started, I can clearly see that you are one of those very few visionaries who are making an awesome contribution to this world like Steve Jobs.

Steve is an inspiration thats for sure, many businesses and livelihoods have been built in his footsteps and his influence has changed the world for the better. I wish him the very best.
