So, free international shipping!?! So good!!

Kidding, but I would like to see the damage for international buyers, will we have to send another payment after the original one?

Ahh that's fantastic. So I assume you can run one V-Lock for monitor/FF motor power/accessory etc on the bottom of the sled, and the dual V-Locks at the rear of the sled run the camera?

Hi forwarded the questions to Luciano. Here's his answer:

Hi David, the batteries module offer different configurations, for red you use only need one battery but for 24 volts cameras you use 2 batteries. but still you have another 4 x 12 volts option coming out. there are always 4 x 12 volts working. if you put 3 batteries.

the shipping will be charge separately if the buyers have an account with DHL, FED EX or other carrier we can send it under their own cost. they can check the cost online on http://www.fedex.com/us/ or http://www.dhl.com/en.html the box it will have 23 kg size 100 cm x 50 cm x 20 cm.

please tell the buyers to click in in to the red users logo and place the password, they don't not have to log in and wait for the administrator to accept them. that's for regular buyers.

DHL shipping from California, US to Germany will be, for example, about $450.

You can calculate duties at http://www.dutycalculator.com/

For Germany and $3000 price (as example) we get import duty & taxes in about €633.28

Vitaliy, not sure which data you use, but the customs for cinematography tools is 3.7% in Europe.

The customs tariff number is 9007910000 0 (the last digit is for national information, like which vat is being applied).

VAT only applies for private buyers. Non privat buyers have to pay the VAT, but get it back in the end of the the quarter.

Shipping also doesn't seem to be so expensive. To Germany, it would cost roughly 130USD with United States Postal Service.

Maybe it's just me, but it I got the feeling that someone wants to spread misleading information in this thread...

Would local pick up be an option when the units are ready?

Cheers!

Earlier in the thread, post # 28

Luciano from ProLine also answerd our questions:
And is shipping included in the price?

Shipping is also not included in the price because shipping prices vary greatly with international shipping. All gears will be available in Los Angeles and shipping from there will be at the buyers expense, although we are happy to arrange the shipping for each custome

In fact all is correct. As I showed combined fees.

Total customs value: €2665.33
Duty: €106.61
VAT: €526.67
Total import duty & taxes due: €633.28

Non private buyers still need to pay VAT first.

You referenced cheapest possible non express service. I am not even sure that seller is ok to go to post office and send it in such way, as I used DHL for get my quote and this was provided as option.
Size is very close to maximum allowed for such parcels, so if it box will be actually slightly larger you will be forced to use express anyway.

This is why I think that shipping pricing and fees must be rechecked and openly stated (for different countries and different buyers), so everyone will understand.

The price discussed below is not the actual price! It's just an example with the purpose to show how to calculate customs and taxes!

If you take as total customs value (which is the value of the item plus transportation cost) 2665.33€, then it would be:

2665.33€*3.7%=98.62€ customs
given 19% VAT for Germany:
(2665.33€+98.62€)*0.19=525.15€
Total of import duties and VAT
98.62€+525.15€=623.77€

Which means:
If you have a business in the EU, you pay for the ProLine: (price + transportation costs)*1.037
If you are a private person (in Germany), you pay for the ProLine: (price + transportation costs)*1.037*1.19

And no, to quote wiki: A VAT is like a sales tax in that ultimately only the end consumer is taxed.
Since we're not consumers, instead using those tools for work, we don't get taxed
It's like giving money to the bank: after depositing 100€ at a bank, are you 100€ poorer?

Here are the shipping details. I think i posted them already a few pages back:

The box weights 23 kg. The size is 100 cm x 50 cm x 20 cm

David Iam just adding to say that this isnt the case all around EC countries. In some you pay VAT taxes no matter what you are company or privet UNLESS you buy from EC countries. But if you buy from USA for Example, you will pay import taxes and and also VAT tax on the import, at least thats what happens in my stupid country anyway.
The only way you dont pat VAT here is when you buy goods from EC countries.
just adding.
thanks

I don't want to doubt you, but that would be against the EC rules:

[VAT is] a consumption tax because it is borne ultimately by the final consumer. It is not a charge on businesses.

However, as far as imports are concerned, VAT must be paid at the moment the goods are imported so they are immediately placed on the same footing as equivalent goods produced in the Community. Taxable people registered for VAT will be allowed to deduct this VAT in their next VAT return.

Maybe just certain parts of the industry are allowed to get the VAT back in Greece...

Here's a link to a pdf file about VAT regulation within the EU.

Thanks David for all you efforts in making this happen.
Wanted to ask a vest question, are they available in different sizes or one size fit all? I'm a stocky guy 6'4 270 lbs, will this be a very snug fit?

Will forward you question. There's just one vest size, but maybe David Winters can comment on it, since he used it at the LA test.

The best shipping quote to Australia is USPS at $336. Is USPS the best choice or is there a more cost effective option available? FedEx was $680, UPS $705.

anybody know how our statistics are looking?

Wrote Luciano an hour ago with some technical questions and asking for a guide for international buyers on how to purchase through monthly installments + how many people already ordered.

Will post his answer, as soon as I get it. I also recommended him to become a reduser sponsor, so that he can post here directly. Especially since he also wants to create future (steadicam) accessories for redusers when this group buy is finished.

Not sure, but I guess that USPS is the cheapest available. It might be of course an option to get a box in a container for all the rigs delivered to Australia (if there are a couple of them). They are pretty cheap, but delivery time is of course longer.

Yes you get it back slowly as it comes out your cutting invoices deduction, but you still have to pay it in one, and if your customers are outside your country you never get the deduction back. Secondly you still pay import taxes importing out of EC.
I know for sure that with a tariff you dont do it in Dk for example, but that doesnt work here.
Third , a lot of things are against EC rules in certain countries inside EC, just because EC rules work for Germany doesnt mean that they work for other countries,
Each goverment make their own rules, and you really cant stop them what ever you do, so I advise you to tell your EC interested parties to look at their country situation.
I know its not a fair world specially those days, but you will have to realise it also.

thanks
