  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Spider-man on EPICs...

Congratulations RED Team! Hey, Jim, the next time you want to pull off a scam, I'm in.

I'd much rather spend my nights (until 4am) with you guys on this board than win any award. True.

Jim

Man, soon you're going to have to start announcing the films that AREN'T shot on RED. This is just too cool, and it's been fun to feel like in a small way, I'm part of the ride. Thanks Jim & team.

hahaha...Priceless! I'm flattered.

Congratulations! That's big recognition to select Epics. They could have selected ANY camera...

I was on a job last Friday with two Alexa's. Everybody on the shoot was basically gizzing over the camera and I was wondering if Epic was going to 'bring it, or what. Looks like I got an answer....

John tested EVERY camera before making his selection...

We aren't likely to ever win an award. We came in to "hot & heavy" for most people's tastes...

Jim

Kubrick never won an Oscar.

I'll take "hot & heavy" over mainstream any day of the week.

Is there a schedule when the first EPIC-movies hit the cinema? Maybe at the end of 2011?

I knew that 2011 was going to be a huge year and I'm not talking about just for me, but obviously for RED with Epic and Scarlett..

However I did not anticipated such an INCREDIBLE end of 2010 with the Principal Photography of a HUGE one such as SPiderman 3D,
and an even bigger beginning of 2011 with the Hobbit 3D Pictures.. I mean, really,
what else there is to say.. we are proud of you all at RED for pulling this out and
can't truly wait too much longer without my Epic cameras hehe.

So Proud and happy to be part of this Huge great family its not even funny ;)

Charlie Chaplin won one... Post production.
Kubrick died before there was time for it.

I am sure Oscars are fun and all, but changing the way movies are made is probably more fun...

Congratulations!

I think there are a few more to come... :-)

Jim

Kubrick never won an Oscar.

Yes he did. It just wasn't for director. It was for his visual effects work on 2001.

Still, I agree with your point. Though I personally wouldn't be surprised if 20 years down the line, Jim, Graeme et al were shown a little recognition from the Academy once all the fuss over coming in hot and heavy has died down somewhat.

Also, congrats on the Spiderman score.

I wonder if even you, Jim, realize the magnitude of anarchic joy you are about to release to us starving indies.

Epic, you are Shiva, the destroyer of film...

Red is storming the beaches of Normalcy...

I got nothin'...I'm just so insanely excited for these things to be released...

Our original goal was to provide a respectful film alternative. We didn't see 1080P as that.

It appears that our goal had been met. Now we have more work to do as we have set our goals higher...
