I am trying to use the sonnet thunderbolt express card adaptor with a tempo pro 34 sata and it doesnt recognize redmags as readable disks on my mac.... it works fine with external sata drives, but once you plug it through the redstation the redmag is unmountable......

for my 15" macbookPro it would be the ideal scenario for my workflow... any suggestions on how to go by this bug???

maybe an driver from red??? Deanan????

thanks all

Diego, I have this same setup... It's not optimal but I noticed if I leave the SSD connected it will usually popup. Takes about a minute. Hope that helps.

Bought the same thing... Not optimal. Will try the trick of waiting, then good things might come you say. :)

Another question. We have a red rocket raid that is connected to our 17" macbook via PC express slot. In the raid we also have a sata card where we can run the SSD reader. Then We are about to get a thunderbolt to PCexpress port and then Use the PC express port to sata x2... is the thunderbolt port on the 17" even a thunderbolt port or is it only for using screens ?

Chris,... thanks for the reply... it pops up as a screen saying that the drive i just inserted isnt readable by this computer..... will try to wait further... but i dont think you are getting the same pop up.....

Diego, That message usually pops up when a drive isn't properly formatted. Have you used the SSD with a camera or is it new?

Björn, I've been running a PCI ExpressCard and Thunderbolt on my 17" Macbook Pro and haven't seen any issues. I think that's what you're trying to ask, however, there are Macbook Pros that have a mini displayport which looks exactly like a thunderbolt port. I guess it depends on the year your 17" Macbook Pro came out.

Hey Chris... i ofloaded the card via firewire 800.... it was a formatted and recorded Mag.... so switching the cables it works.... its some issue with the sata, sonnet thunderbolt way.....

I have tryied it by itself on the 2xsata express, changed cables, etc... no scenario will allow it to be read by my Lion running macbookpro....

will keep doing it on the 800 but its slower that it could be....

thanks

i get thir error also..it was fine on leopard only ssd gets off in 1min when its copying now i upgraded to lion and it doesnt work anymore

I really despise Lion. It has set my productivity to 70% of what it was. Everything is slower. And now this. I buy the Pro card and yet no joy. Anyone know of a solution except to go back to snow leopard, which I can't do because of iCloud.

Lion is the only option I have for my less than a month old Macbook Pro. Luckily I haven't been having the same issues some people have mentioned. I have the Tempo Edge SATA and Temp Pro SATA cards. One gets inserted into my ExpressCard slot the other in the Sonnet Echo Express. There were a few hiccups at first but everything has been working better. Perhaps it's how I have everything hooked up, not sure what goes into what at this moment. If you haven't already, Sonnet has updates to all their drivers, they make the hardware "Thunderbolt aware". Perhaps that will help. I can't say I hate Lion. It's certainly not as robust as Snow Leopard but not nearly as bad as Leopard. Hopefully a few more updates will solve a lot of these issues.

Maybe dual boot Lion AND Snow Leopard?
