A little something available for order in a couple weeks... you attach it to your existing red handles (left, right, or top) and can adjust it to work for right/left handed operation. We'll have some options for the cables - a short one to use with the aux connector on the back of the camera an a longer cable for jib arm use. Pricing is TBD but I'll try and get that up here as soon as we get the first protos together towards the end of this week. We'll also have some updates on our website in the coming weeks...

Here's a link to the video for the first breadboard proto...

Other trigger...

Other trigger...

Is it possible to have another one for GPI trigger and/or custom preset button as it is difficult to reach custom button 1/2 on the body of the camera while hand helding it? Typically for ramp up/focus zoom/...

Thanks

Patrick

Looks great. Make sure the button has a tactile 'click' please. Also consider other mounting options, such as the clips arri start/stops have.

What about having a small, covered switch to change between start/stop and gpi mode to make it useful for timelapse atc?

Nice Curt

Love your simple, solid designs.

Yes, I'll be ordering one when it gets closer to my camera delivery time.

Unfortunatley the GPI's are on separate connectors so you would have to use a 5 pin lemo on the switch then break out to two connectors on the cable to plug into the two aux receptacles. That may be a good idea though... then just use a single ended cable if you dont want to use the additional button.

The button uses a dome switch that has a dampened tactile feel... ie not a loud click but a affirmative feedback that its been pressed. Can you post a pic of the arri clip you're talking about?

This sounds like the same thing Tresch is asking for right?

Love your simple, solid designs.
Thanks Darren... does that mean I get a gold star now?

Does it beep? That would rule...

I dig the design. What's the thread pitch of the screw that's holding the red "mount" in place? It'd sure be convenient if it was a 1/4-20....

Great looking piece, Curt. When can I buy it?

Gee. Can't find one right now. It is basically a spring-loaded clip with rubber grippers that is optimized for clamping onto cylindrical things like pan handles.

Got it.. we were thinking about something like that. The switch has a 1/4-20 fastener opening at the bottom so I can envision several mounting options. I'll look into the clip but my guess is it will take awhile (tooling plastic is usually 1-2 months).
The other short term solution would be a clamp collar thats machined but you'd have to disassemble everything to mount it. Would 15 & 19mm work?

Brook: Doh.. same time post. Yeah, maybe we can throw a slide switch to enable and disable the beep.. I'll throw that in at no charge since piezo beepers are so damn cheap. We'll have it up on the website for sale in a week or two. Delivery will be the middle of March.

Curt, shoot Stephen or Hector at Element Technica an email to check out their Speedy Clamps. Not saying that you should 86 the solution you have now, but if that little screw is a standard pitch [1/4-20!!! Or 3/8-16...] then it'll be super easy to hook your button up to existing stuff-holding solutions.

Thanks for researching the beep solution. Count me in for 5 or 6 of 'em. :) Can't imagine it'd cost much more than $100 with a 12-18" cable, eh?

very nice style button ..what about price ?:waaa:
Let me finish putting them together this week and I'll let you guys know on Friday.

Yup, its a 1/4-20. The bracket is an easy piece that shouldn't really affect the price too much so there's no reason why you couldn't use ET's stuff or the bracket that comes with it. The main reason I made the bracket was to get it as close as possible to the handle so it will feel like it belongs there and you won't need to contort to push the button.

Pricing wise... thats in the ball park of what I was thinking. I need to get quotes back from Lemo and some other suppliers before I commit 100%.
