just came back from a big european (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) meeting. Some informations were handled there:

Arri will show a D21 at NAB and they will sell it - price list should be published at NAB.
The new Harry Potter film will be produced on RED One - no details known yet.

Can't wait to see all the new stuff on NAB(or at least see it on the web after, cause I'm not going there :( )
What kind of meeting was it by the way?

Wow.

Who was there at the meeting?

That's unlikely - the D20 shoots 3K (in data mode, at least).

I think any successor to the D20 is likely to shoot a lower-rez RGB (1080p/2K, probably 2K) over DL HD-SDI and higher rez data (i.e. RAW) mode, much like the D20 does. Improvements are more likely to be in DR, framerates and unit cost, imo - especially if they're moving into the sales market with it.

Just my 0.02...

Okay, this needs to be confirmed, because if it's true it's actually big news. That's the kind of thing where if I tell my clients "This is the camera that was used in Harry Potter" than most of them will probably write me a blank check for crying out loud. No offense to Soderbergh, but most of my clients here in the middle of nowhere midwest don't know who he is.

Hey Brook, who's Chivo?
perhaps Emmanuel Lubezky?

That's right. Lubezki.

But Brook, what makes you think he will do "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"? Will Alfonso Cuarón come back to direct the last installment of the Potter series? That would be great news, actually.

I don't want to betray his trust so won't give names but one of the top DOPs in Hollywood wants to use my RED camera in his next blockbuster. :)

well, you can add Mel Gibson & Dean Semler & friends to the list of those checking out the Red camera within past 2 weeks !
