"RED Log and Transfer Plugin (BETA)"

"Load this plugin into your Intel based Mac that has Final Cut Pro 6.0.3 and above installed and you will have the Log and Transfer functionality to import REDCODE RAW clips (either 4k 2:1 aspect ration or 2k 2:1 or 16:9 aspect ratio currently) and transcode them (directly inside the Log and Transfer module) to Apple’s ProRes codec for use within Final Cut Studio."

thanks to mike seymour's twitter.

Won't let me install. Tells me that my system doesn't meet requirements and displays a red exclamation point on both my drives.

I have an 8 core, Intel, MacPro with the latest FCP program. Still running QT 7.3.1. Could the older QT be the problem?

Woot!! Installed. Works perfectly!!! Audio too!! This is awesome!

HAHAHAHA, Love the "Sepia" setting.

Holy sweet nectar!

That will most definitely be checked out tomorrow.

Hi,

Do you have Final Cut Studio 2 Redcode Plugin installed? It seems to be required prior to installing Red Log & Transfer Plugin.

Sorry guys, can some break this info for someone who does not know much about Final Cut. I am looking at buying an post software and considering FCP. Does this plugin solves any of much talked about issues with Red workflow in FCP.

Thanks in advance.

Giving us cool stuff they aren't even promoting...and while they are all very busy at NAB. Class Act!

@REDefine

the plug in juste convert the proxies QT of the RED on Proress. It just work like you use a regular P2 card to convert the .MXF on .MOV exect it convert in Prores.

The plug in work very fast, it really use all the CPU of the mac

It installs and opens for me but all the clips are grayed out. None of them have audio. Is audio required?

@ROY

the plug in won't be instal on my macpro, what is your configuration. It work well on my macpro.

I was running FCP 6.0.2, QT 7.3.1, but then I just did ALL the system upgrades. After it does the first major batch, check it again for a Pro Apps update. Repair permissions, restart then try it out.

Why just for intel macs, do i have to throw away my old G5's?

Yes.

You said it - OLD - Why would RED write software code for old and slow systems?
