  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So what can you do with a Scarlet-X...

RCX + PS

So.... The Greenscreen clip

This is 120 fps 4k 16:9
There is a reason for the framing... :)

As a sidenote - and you'll see, we had the tint going bananas that day, but I didn't really worry. It's RAW, right...

And here's the R3D (about 1 GB)

http://www.gunleik.com/stills/A002_C021_07240Q.RDC.zip

Tungsten and no blackshading, BTW... :)

I know THIS isn't possible on the Scarlet, but out of all my posts here, this is actually the only Epic-specific...

Cheers and good luck!

Thanks. I guess you inadvertly answered the question I posted as to whether or not the Scarlet does real 4K?...not at 120fps at least.

I recently did a greenscreen for a film to be released this month. It was Epic which was nice and so I thought a Scarlet would be nice for my personal indie stuff.

Here is a before and after from Sanjins shot from am few years back. AS SHOT

GRADED RCX

OK.

More contrast amd more COLOR is what people seem to like around here.. Yawn... :)

Here's another. Same disclaimers apply... laptop, no calibration, just playing around, etc.

RCX-PRO > TIFF > Adobe Camera Raw (adjusted color a bit, slight sharpening) > JPG

VARIATION:

RCX-PRO > TIFF > Adobe Camera Raw (slight sharpening) > JPG

Just saw this ... am a 'stills' person, with Scarlet on my mind. Can you elaborate on how this was shot & then graded/finished ? I've worked with .NEFs and .CR2s -- and NEVER seen an imaged pulled out like this. This blew me away ...

serge at ia-64.com if you don't want to post.

TIA -

These are basically test-images I shot to get aquainted with the Epic.

What you see, is basically quite challenging lit scenes (for any digital cinema cam I know) pulled directly off the cam and graded - mostly in RedCine-X.

really no magic to it, besides the magic the cam itself represents.
Which isn't unsubstantial.

Some folks would disagree. ;)

Also, "...challengingly lit scene ..." Ansel probably said the same thing about Moonrise. Huge understatement. I still don't see how he pulled the image out. Hopefully, RED will include lots of of his talent in the box that my Scarlet comes in.

What Moonrise?

Ansels Talent is worth packing in... :)

Although it was not shot on Scarlet-X but on RED1-MX that both supposed to be are using the same sensor MX

I like this one of my shots from May 20, 2009

Shot on RED ONE M with Leica Summilux R 50mm f/1.4, no filters, ISO 320, K 5600, REDcolor2, RED gamma2, RCX-PRO and PSCS5.5 cc applied...

Thanks. I wish I had a way to play with secondaries. The way her skin tones turned out irritates me :) Still great fun to play with. Thanks for sharing these!

You could do that in Resolve Lite... For free.

Caught up playing with Gunleik's HDRx footage. Wow, addictive stuff. Thanks so much.
