Here are some regrades based from looking at the images I posted on Page 3. I never like to keep grades so these are regrades from the deleted originals, I believe they are undiscernible , in all but a few, from the originals. Here are the .RMDs from Redcine-X Pro.


These are from Redcine-X. I just went with what I liked, however, since Redcine-X has no Vectoscope to judge "Color Saturation" and "Skintones" by, the colors maybe "too saturated" and double check the skintones with a proper Vectorscope for accuracy in another program.

These last two were the only ones I had to take into Resolve to get rig of those magenta/purple skies. I think I used a "Hue vs Hue" or a "Hue vs Sat" aimed at either magenta or purple, I forget which one because I deleted the grade.

Oh, tbh, I prefer not to sharpen, I only do it when told to. I think there's a lots of detail to be found in them R3Ds already, if correctly focused that is. Like here:

No need to sharpen anything.


And when I do, I try RCXP's "Unsharp Mask" and "High Pass Sharpen" (under Post: Image: Effects) first, plus there's an option, at the export tab (under Options:Output Framing:Software Scaling), where you can set the scaling algorithm in case you aren't exporting at "clip resolution". Here:

And if that's not enough, ther's always various sharpening tools found in NLE's, be it as third party plugins or built in ones. :smile5:

In Redcine-X it was easier to bring down the +5 stops over in Standard Mode. But, l'll have to fix the magenta/purple walls in Resolve.

However, you can see some of the side effects of bringing down from +5 stops over.
