  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SINGULARITY

Wow! Really enjoyed that. Great special effects and beautiful shots!

Beautiful, Eric! :-)

What a great way to wind down at the end of the week.
i love the kid's voice and the way he pronounces words.
Beautifully rendered images and pitch perfect pacing.
My only criticism would be the music. it wan't quite there, emotionally, for me.
Close, but not as spot on as the visuals.

Liked the intro steady shot, smooth. Any post used?

Very good work Eric, your horizons are excellent. Hopefully you were being pulled on a western dolly on the wide reveals as they would have taken a lot out of you if you were running through the grass like that!

Thanks all! It was a fun one.
This actually scored not only me a job on the newest David Baldacci film that just wrapped, but the kid was cast as one of the main characters, he was on The View today and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him, quite the little talent.
No western dolly, just walking a bit faster. Several more impressive running steadicam shots didn't make it into the final cut. Hated to kill them, but they weren't needed.
Really fun coloring process with this one too.

I really wanted to use this steadicam shot, but alas, it didn't fit into the narrative.
This is a running shot:-)

Hi Eric,

I really enjoyed your film. i.e. the script, content, shots, rhythm. The steadicam shot you mentioned is a great shot. If you inserted it in separate grabs in the following spots.

a 2-3 second grab at 1.50
another 1 to 2 second grab at 3.20
another 1 to 2 second grab at 5.12

the steadicam shot could in some ways act as an expression of the boy's internal journey as he wanders through the film, Just an idea. Either way, great work.
Joe

Stunning work Eric! love the images and the idea. Also love the music choice and specially the contrast with the image and Bach's music. my taste. congratulation.

Amazing work - Very poetic and filmic at the same time. Awesome!
