  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shot on RED Film Festival extended to November 8th

Wasn't there a restriction to US people at the beginning?

First seem to remember we could not participate - and some comments here reflcect that remembering.

Now it seems it has been opened to everyone. Damn, we had so much so good material...

OK, next time boys!

Cheers,
Axel

Congratulations to everyone who made it!

The Sharp contest is for US residents only. The RED one is open to everyone.

sorry guys, meant to say something and forgot...

this festival was awesome... like some of the best shorts i've probably ever seen, regardless of resolution. there were some technical difficulties that gave us an extra hour or so to socialize and succumb to the bar. buncha sharp screens setup playing different content to check out. the saban is so awesome...

the festival winner was close by johan lehman (from sweden, if i'm not mistaken) - really great piece, they brought that fire. i spoke with him and the dp who were really cool guys and they said they were thinking about posting it online, but perhaps it's going elsewhere, i'll keep an eye out for a link.

can't remember the name of the student award and don't remember voting for an audience award, i think because of the time there were a couple of shorts that had to be shown the next day at red, maybe it happened then, or maybe i had one too many drinks. the sharp winner was dr. boom by rockhouse motion - they also brought the fire (and an american flag, or 50)

my absolute favorite was dancer by nicola worrel about spiritual expression through dance in the life of a particular native american dancer... that's from the first fire (:

Looks like some good jumping rocks you got in your home Paul!

haha precisely, and some good skipping stones as well ;)

let me try to remember/find out the student winner... standby (or speak up if you remember)

Does anyone who was there remember what the piece on the screen to the left of the bar was? It was black and white, featured models in an auto shop, and some really cool driving footage of a vintage convertible.
