Hello,

I really like to focus really nearby my lens. I was kinda spoiled with the voightlanders(17,5mm 0.95 , 25mm 0.95 , 42,5mm 0.95) on MFT. And have not found a equivalent on FF or S35. But you guys might have some suggestions. (For now I am shooting on sigma or leica summicron-r's. But neither really focus that close (30cm).

Cheers

Macro lenses are the ones used for it in narrative most of the time but... extension tubes, diopters, tele extenders all will get you the distance, magnification you need with pretty much any lens...

The Band Pro Raptors are FF and is really good macro lenses. I did these close focus test with it the other day. Think it was the 100 and 180mm if I´m not mistaken. They are smack sharp and got a nice falloff. Even though the focus trough is really long it get quite delicate when it gets close. Whats in focus is just a hair thick if wide open. Think I shot these with the lenses pretty much closed all the way, still focusing is not an easy task.

But those lenses comes in at a quite different price range evne compared to the best diopters.

My favourite lenses for close ups (unless you're looking for true makros, but the Voigtlanders aren't true makros), are the Zeiss ZF/ZE

- Zeiss 25mm f2.8 (close focus 0.17m, you can almost touch the item you're framing for), alternatively the newer 25mm f/2, technically a better lens with less distortion and faster, but doesn't focus as closely.

- Zeiss 50mm makro f/2 (0.24m, very-very nice lens with practically no distortion)

- Zeiss 100mm f/2 makro (0.44m, again a very nice lens which focuses very close for a telephoto lens)

You can get all 3 for less than $2000 used, they all cover full frame, the only con I can think of is that they physically extent, but they are great lenses for the money, the 50mm is probably one of my all time favourite lenses.
