Duke Nukem Forever is finally being released...

Scarlet was, and continues to be now with this announcement, priced way below what it *could* be. Complainers, and there will be many of them, (the comical folks who feel that somehow they can't control what they do with their money or what products they buy) need to know that. Great move Red, bring it.

I am starting to wonder, however, if the gap in price between Scarlet and Epic is worth the diminishing gap in features.

I would imagine that at best the Scarlet can only shoot up to 60fps in HDR.

Seriously, this camera could easily cost $45,000.

So is it simply just adding $1.000 to the fixed, 2/3-interchangable, S35 and FF35?
And does this mean higher frame rates for ordinary shooting?

Though I might have been against it, I know it's a great feature that will turn my
material into pure gold, and it is probably a very smart move from the Red-team.

This is great news.
Thank you, Mr. Jannard, thank you, RED-team!

This is great.

But I think I speak for the majority when the biggest thing we want is an update on a possible release date.

I really don't want to buy a "Waiting for Scarlet" camera.

I want the real thing.

This is a great present for scarlet's buyers. You give us an S35, 5K, 13-18HDRx Stops, PL/EF, for the prize of a high-end HDV.

Thanks again, you're the most comprehensive vendor that I know Jim!

What about options ... releasing the non HDRx™ scarlet.

To borrow your own words ... if "3k is not enough" then scarlet need to happen sooner rather than later

Also I don't see the point in announcing a delay. You already have an opened ended ticket Jim. You haven't set a release date.

Jim, as your EPIC stage-2 customer. I really need to know your solid plan, how will you position between EPIC and Scarlet. What's are the advantages vs price point

Thanks

*correction I quoted Jim wrong, he said 1080p is not enough, not 3k is not enough but I hope you still see my point Jim.

YES! I love when companies listen to their heart on what seems right and not to the market "logic" :) makes suprior products in the end. Thank you very much :) Really really cool to see RED still following its own advice.

Again, magic motion is the biggie here.

I think that feature alone is going to mass up a bit of a headache around other companies offices...
