Hello,

I wanna know if there will be an official Nikon mount for the Scarlet-X, as you can find one for your other products ?
If yes, when will it be available ?

Yann

There is always the Optitek nikon mount.

X3. I don't want to buy a Canon mount! I have nothing but Nikon glass. Is the PL mount w/adapter the best solution for the Nikon lens owners?

Curious to know if any Nikon owners might consider this in lieu of a D800 or D4? (I know this isn't FF)

You can get the manual Optitek mount and then there will be a Nikon smart mount for Epic and Scarlet. When ? May be a little wait. Also you can but Spacecam's Leica mount and get an adapter. The Nikon to Canon adapters work okay also in the meantime.
I own 14 pieces of Nikon glass. Believe me I'd love a smart mount. But they got the Canon mount working well now and as Jim said last night, even the Canon 300C has a dumb mount. The REDs are the only Canon mount cameras with autofocus enabled...

I actually don't plan to order the camera package until the Nikon mount is available now.
I grew up in the newspaper biz. Bought my first new Nikon at 15 years old. I'm making my shopping list now. 2 good VR zooms will run about $2100 and cover everything I intend to shoot.

Nikon mount will need to have motorized control for the aperture inside the mount itself VS both aperture and focus motors living inside the lenses for Canon with 'only' electronic data transmitted... that is why it was expected to take a bit more time to develop and manufacture... but hopefully it is coming soon now...

OPTITEK Nikon Mount guys...4 screws to remove PL and then same to mount the Nikon mount. easy! If you plan to wait.....who knows how long you'll wait...and the Optitek is a great mount and my preference is manual......but will be happy to see what RED has in mind for and Electronic/Manual option.

Hey, we are still waiting for an official Epic Nikon mount... we have 5X rights to get it years earlier than Scarlet users. :-)
