Hey yall, whats a decent compact slider the you would use for a Scarlet W, small form factor, just side handle, 4.7 and hypercore slim battery. I have a manfrotto head I would use on it, I have a small edelkrone now and don't dig it really

Steve

mine has always been rough, I even had edelkrone send me new wheels and bearings, I love the form factor (using with gh4) but its just not smooth enough, what am I doing wrong!

Strange, I've never had an issue with mine. Maybe you just got a dud? I've had to make some minor tension adjustments on the wheels, but besides that it's been great.

yeah, I bought it second hand, I have tried to make adjustments but it's still need stabilzation, which in that case I'll just use my ronin m and call it a day!

I'd go with the Trost and With Bob's 30% discount it's well worth it. Also get the off-set plates as it counter-balances the slide so that you can use it on the ground. I bought both to use as 2 axis slider.

How portable is the Trost? It looks pretty bulky.

I plan on using my Kessler Carbon Stealth http://www.kesslercrane.com/stealth/ with a Scarlet-W. The CineDrive allows me to control a DSLR for time-lapse shots as well, so for me it will be dual purpose.

If Steve is looking at getting the M50 then it's pretty portable. They are quite hefty and admittedly better for controlled environments than run and gun situations. Mind you, I've used and own a few sliders and found the Trost M sliders to be the smoothest out there.

i have used a rhino before, hmm, probably a better form factor for me

grabbed the rhino, 2 footer, smooth as can be, thanks so much

Reviving this for alternate suggestions longer than 24" but maxing out at 36". I have an SW on the way and also head out to do lots of motion-control timelapse with my DSLR. I've got an interchangeable moco rig so almost any slider is fair game. Been looking at the Cinevate Duzi (BH link). I really want to go Rhino but 42" is too large for my needs and doesn't fit in my tripod hardcase (the one I use when flying to location), and 24" is just too short to cover the range I need regularly. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the Cinevate Duzi V3 and I also have the Modo for timelapses. Never looked back. Easy to lug around and it's kinda heavy duty. I paired it with a strong ball head to get different angles.

Here are some shots I did with it last weekend with the Raven:

Cheers!
