  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W Queue

Any word if the queue is the same or separate for the Monochrome? Wondering if I should get in the queue or consider renting

I HATE to be wrong but i'm very glad i did the upgrade!

with the sale of my scarlet D it was kind of a no brainier ( if you are clever:)

its 30% better all round, hard to find the best adjectives but cleaner, meaner and leaner

its like an AMG version of merc if that makes any sense

going to shake down the kit over the next couple of days and have a shoot this Friday.

but less than 24 hours in i have 0 regrets apart from moaning like an idiot the entire process

I got allocated today! The camera already arrived at my dealer and is ready for dispatch. Ordered the Raven on 6/21/16. Switched to S/W in January.

Hey Martin, good to hear that :hurray: You ordered via teltec, right? My history is very similar. Ordered 4/21/16 and did the Upgrade in January but no call so far.

Lemme decrypt for you :)

Ravens are being shipped at the same pace as last month, cutting away backorders chunk by chunk slowly but surely. We closed all new orders on those until we get caught up.

Scarlet-W we have invested (heavily) to increase volume the proper way, and as a result we will ship more Scarlet-W's in the month of March than we ever have in any month...

more Scarlet-Ws out the door this month alone than we shipped in October, November, December and January combined :)

That does mean Scarlet costs us more.. so price is gonna go up very soon... like before NAB soon... so everyone with an order in is obviously protected but just want to give a heads up that the increase is coming.

Improvements to Scarlet-W are going to be software based as the code is currently going through it's first big efficiency code improvement getting ready for IPP2 . So all new and all old Scarlet-W win.

Don't get too excited.. most of the visible improvements will be in terms of ProRes recording and file structure.

Speaking of IPP2... The next Beta for Camera and RCX drops next Friday.

Hello all!

I put in a deposit last week and got a phone all two days ago being allocated for delivery next week. Was never imagining that it would ship so quickly! I am very much looking forward to a new Scarlet-W and to be a first time owner of a RED camera. I have filmed a lot of productions with various flavours of RED before but having access to one will open up for a lot of exciting work to be made.

Hope you all have a great weekend ahead!

I found a dealer who were able to deliver by next week (in Europe)! So stoked to get the full package. Thought I had to wait until this summer!
