  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My Scarlet got here yesterday, wooo! Didn't have anything but the brain, but I hooked it up to my Marshall SDI monitor for a little peek.. looked good!

Today I got the Touch and plugged it in - and unfortunately immediately ran into a big issue. Now, in 4k or 5k (disappears when I punch in to 3k or 2k), there is some serious banding/glitching on the right side of the image. It's passed through the Touch, SDI, and HDMI. Reset everything to default, tried just about everything I could in camera - I'm still waiting on my SSDs next week so I couldn't test anything involving storage yet (black shading, reinstall firmware, save logs... more?) It's worst in 5k, and sometimes when selecting 5k I get a 1D error thrown and restart. This has been running off AC power so far and it's running 3.0.0.

Has anyone run in to this issue before? I submitted a Red ticket but haven't heard back after I responded - they initially just said to do what I mentioned above. When I get the SSD I'm curious to see if it records the glitch... a clean feed out through HDMI displays the error. Bah! Thoughts? Greatly appreciated.

I've gotten this image before too using both LCD only and LCD + HDMI. Didn't get an error message though. Mine happened on the left side of the screen. It seems as if the right side of the screen gets cut short and is shown on the left side. And I have the latest firmware installed. Haven't reported it, as it hasn't happened enough times for me to want to take action just yet.

I did open a ticket, just thought I'd hop on here to see if I could get any feedback as well.

My image hasn't gone back to normal after it started - it will get a little better every once in awhile, but even then will still have lots of little green/pink lines on the side of the frame.

Have you double checked that the cables are firmly seated? I know it sounds obvious but this has gotten me a couple of times. Lemos have to wear in a little sometimes before they seat easily.

Yeah I have, unplugged and plugged everything in (4 different HDMI monitors, SDI, and the Touch) a few times.. and it's the same image glitch that carries over to all the different monitors.

That worries me :001_unsure: as I am collecting my Scarlet in the UK at he beginning of next month ( it has arrived a wile ago but SSD, side handle and Redmote are still on backorder and I am still travelling).I wont have any lenses on me jet but, after what you’ve just said, I think I’ll better get one before then in order to check for issues.

once you have an SSD, try reloading the latest firmware

Welcome to the club! Mine went down in the first couple days as well. Been a rocky road since. When it works its great, when it doesn't it's a headache. Give yourself proper time to get acquainted and try to learn how to avoid the issues.

Changing firmwares has usually caused more issues for me. I get 30 times as much noise in my image with the latest firmware upgrade. No matter what I do.

man this is frustrating. i went to the red store/repair facility in hollywood today to drop off the lcd. they didn't give shit. there was no loner program, no apologies. they just packed it up and shipped it to irvine and told me i would hear from someone next week. pretty lame customer service.

That sucks. Yeah, I'm a little worried I'll have to miss the first job I booked next week if it needs to be sent in. Damn :(. Hoping firmware reflash or rollback will fix my glitch.

Matthew, sorry if you don't feel like we give a shit. We simply need to get a product into the hands of our techs at the Irvine office to properly diagnose an issue and get back to you on next steps. If you have feedback on how the experience can be improved, send me a PM.

I have, and gotten no response.

Jeffrey, I see emails between you and technical support on March 12. Do you have the support ticket number for the LCD issue? Feel free to PM it to me. Most of the time we get a log and don't reply is that we are waiting for an answer from our engineers. As soon as we have something valuable, we certainly reply.

My biggest regret was to update the firmware, I had a perfect Scarlet until then, now it seems full of little issues. Annoying you can't roll it back. I have a big job on and getting grey hairs already, not the enjoyable experience I was hoping for, certainly has dampened my enthusiasm. It's a shame as I just love this camera.
