Are there plans to have the fixed lens Scarlet have an internal filter wheel? This might convince me to go for this over the non-fixed lens version, just to have an uber run n' gun/vacation cam.

If it can't be a wheel, could it be a set of glass filters (clear and various NDs) in a small dust free drawer ?

Also why limit that to scarlet only ? Maybe not on the 28K version but could be useful on S35 and FF35 versions...

If some prefer the "add nothing between the lens and the sensor block" philosophy maybe the back-focus could be adjusted to have an empty drawer without the clear glass.

-----------------

Else if technology permits, what about a digital variable ND, a sort of high-def LCD glass permitting 0 to 99% light dimmer (if it can be made blurry enough to create a uniform filtering) ?

you choose to shoot at f5.6 24fps 180 deg shutter and adjust the variable ND to nail your exposure. :matrix:

I believe it wasn't included in the Red One because of lack of space between the back of the PL mount and the OLPF, and I don't really care for it on my Red, and I don't think its super necessary on all the Scarlet models, but if they want the Scarlet Fixed lens to be the ultimate soccer guerilla mom camera, I think it would be a good idea.

Although it would be F$%#ing hilarious to see a soccer mom swapping ND's in the mattebox at their 7 year olds soccer game.

Thinking about it more though, I'll probably get the interchangeable lens 2/3rd inch anyway. I want the mini-primes! Plus then I'll have something to rent to the Indies while my R1/Epic goes out on the pro jobs.
