The past week has been one of the shortest ever. I haven't had any time to think about Scarlet. I have been shooting and hanging out with Italian REDusers all week in Rome, Florence, and now Milan.

If the canon camera to be released is the speculated 1080p 4:2:2 EF & PL cameras this is a waste of time. We already have this in a cheaper form with the Sony fs100 and Panasonic af100.

Not to split hairs, but neither the FS100 nor AF100 are 4:2:2
Even the F3 is 4:2:0 when shooting the native codec onto cards.
Not saying that makes it a 'home run' - far from it - but a large sensor 4:2:2 cam at that price point would be something new, at least.

The EOS C300 seems to be an Alexa killer, that's for sure... but it can't even compete with Red though.

Alexa Killer, yeah right. I can't see any serious pro with a Feature in mind using that camera instead of the Alexa if the budget is there. ALEXA records 3.5 K Raw image data. Canon at best records 10 bit single stream HDI. Even sony F3 has a dual link 4:4:4 . The canon is nothing close to the Alexa killer with the specs I've read.
