  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet (and shipping) announcement Nov. 3rd...

Nov 3/rd will be a big day for REDUSER....the servers will be overloaded

what did you guys see that we missed???
 
November 3rd is likely to be the most watched day in Reduser history. It will be well worth it.

Hmmmm. I think this really points towards the speculation that Canon is announcing something similar to what we previously knew of as Scarlet on November 3rd. Picking thing date, and Jim's recent talk about the competition aiming at the wrong target (the one they set up when they last gave specs on Scarlet).

Didn't someone (Initial J..) say something, not very long ago, to the effect that we would know Scarlet was getting closer to shipping when we started seeing prototypes going out more widely on productions, and not just in the hands of the likes of Ted?

I suspect a further piece of artful misdirection after reading the rest of tonight's posts... I doubt we'll see so much as a corner of the 'real' Scarlet before Nov. 3rd ;-)

Hoping my dreams aren't dashed when the price comes out...you never know. Even so, this is going to be epic (no pun)

Btw, anybody know why I can't edit my profile like my location and such? Is it because my posts are basically ziltch even though I registered a while ago?
 
Great News Jim - Can't wait. Better put an extra few dimes in the server slot! :-)

Although, didn't you say somewhere that Scarlet wouldn't be released until EPIC-X all stages (except stage4) are ready to ship? So does that mean that we will get a very good idea as to when Stage 4 EPIC-X will be available? Still before year end?

So on November 3rd are you going to rent out a Hollywood Studio for the announcement..........Oh wait, never mind. You already own one.
 
Can someone do the math and please post a world clock timetable? I want to be here for the forum meltdown!
 
Wow... super exciting times!!!

Do I dare even speculate that the Canon and Red date being the same may signify some kind of partnership? Red designing software/cameras (redcode) and Canon manufacturing? Perhaps Canon acquired Recode or something? That may be a stretch... I'm just thinking out loud. But hey, they do both share the same color scheme though... :smile:

And yes... time to ebay the 7D perhaps... hopefully they still be worth something with everyone dumping them!!!
 
Wonderful. I'll totally be here, doing my part to clog up the RED servers, hitting refresh every 3-5 seconds. ;)
