i shoot a big commercial with these outstanding new lamps.
the are lighter and they have the same output like a kinoflow, but you can change color-temperatur in which temperature you want, and you can reduce the light without loosing the light temperature as well.
its a plasma lamp, and its perfect.
try.

Funny you should post this . . . Go Germany!

Hmmm, not sure how it works, but it looks like the same concept as K5600's Softtube attachment for the Jokers. Videos were no helpful (spent half the time on stupid graphics at the beginning/end). No info on the web site.

No pricing info, but research on other plasma fixtures coming to market would suggest somewhere in the $3-6K area. That is hardly competition for Kinos. Especially considering the used market for Kinos and the new market for Kino knockoffs. I can get a 6-bank dimming Stellar fixture for $500. Seems like 10 times that for a fixture that will put out less light is not a reasonable alternative.

Plasma is a cool technology, but its in the early adopter phase. I will wait a few years until prices drop significantly.

If like TV's - plasma consumes more energy and is more expensive than LED's. I have the LitePanel series and love them.

the price is a little bit lower than a flo.
the quality is stronger and better to handle. the balast is amazing.
you can control four different lamps with one balast in the same moment.
dmx is also possible.
you can connect them by a cable or directly. so you can build a 6 meter long tube if you want.
the tube is thinner as your smallest finger.
v-battery is possible and it takes more then 3 hours to power it down.
the grids are made especially for them and they are made with aluminium.

its the spectrum from the color my friend.
you can controll the lightpower without losing temperature.
you can fade it down to 30%

Omk, You really need to get your screen name changed to your real name.

Also, this does sound a bit like advertising. Are you involved with the company?

Triple posting the same message is not got etiquette. I'll remove two of the three.

Danke…

dear martin,

i am really not involved in that company but i was very proud to be the first one in germany to work on a set with these lamps.
i heard about it and then i ask them to sent me different types to check on set.
instead it was a bigger production where i was shooting a lot of scence in the aspectratio of 5:1, they decided to sent me prototypes for that job.

Oh no. Now I have to get rid of a whole truck load of Kino's

LOL, maybe not yet Paul.

Fluorescent tubes are plasma. The only innovation I see here is the variable color temperature which some have experimented with but there's also a fairly significant loss of efficiency to do it.

If anybody wants to "say goodbye" to their Kinoflos at, say, a 50% discount, please PM me...

Rumors of their demise... etc., etc.
