  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RPPs

When they say "serial number", they really mean "delivery date".

Not when it comes to trade-ins for an Epic.

But yes, as far as accessories go, I think you're right - orders are taken in order of camera delivery date.
Which is exactly why my ears pricked up when Jarred said "RED ONE serial number".

Mark, you should be fine... RED is going off delivery dates, but they are going off of dates the cameras were originally shipped from RED, AFAIK. So your January 2008 position with serial #228 should be golden.

Just because you transferred the camera into your name this month doesn't matter, your serial number and original delivery date transfers with the camera to the new owner.

This is not a change in policy. The reason why original delivery date is considered and not just serial number is thus: If serial #111 (to pick something arbitrary) didn't decide to actually buy their camera until late last year when RED forced them to do so, lest they lose their place in line, then they would have been receiving #111 at the same time serial #'s in the 35XX range were being delivered. Why should #111 suddenly get preferential treatment just for having a lower number?

Anyway, like I said, the original delivery date should carry along with the serial # to the new owner. You should be fine.

Edit> This also brings up the concern of buying a second-hand RED from someone. Buyer beware that a seller could have a low serial #, but a really late delivery date so it may not be worth as much as one would think. Then again, Jim has said that Scarlet and Epic will ramp up much faster than the RED One and no one will have to wait that long.

I forgot to ask at the show and find myself curious...number of iris blades? Anyone know?

estimated date for both scarlets: fixed lens & FF35

If Shawn won't go for that I might be game.... 85mm and 100mm are pretty close focal lengths and I'd be willing to sell the 100mm in order to effectively buy the set for $16K in order to purchase the 18mm later.

Let me know if you're keen!

Paul

I'm keen :drool5:

They are available in both.

Hi Jarred, yeah that's what I would like to be sure, becaues on red.com it is written:

"Limited quantities, will ship when available.

* Uses standard PL mount included with RED ONE
* Imperial lens measurement version"

And I need the metric ones. Does it mean that imperial come first and then metric or both in same time?

Thanks to clarifiy,
antoine.

You're looking at the imperial ones. Here's the link to the metric ones:
