Rokinon Cine Primes on EPIC, first Impressions

Thanks Dominik,

But what front thread do you have on that Lens?
Can you screw on an UV filter or does the front élément hinder it?

Thanks

Pat

I bought a cheapy one at local cam shop for my 85mm Cine and it accom my 77mm ND.

Maybe yours is a stolen unit hehehe

I have the german version (walimex) of the 35 right here and there's a number on the mount facing towards the camera.

that's the only number I could find.

YES! It is the serial number.

But my Rokinon Cine 35mm NIKON don't have it. :-(

But I'll send you a beer anyway!!!
PM me your adress. ;-)

Pat

And here is some 85mm prime footage.

ungraded outtakes from an advertising shoot for a sports apparel company I did earlier today, everything was shot on the 85mm at F2.8, 50fps - 5K - 7:1 and varying shutter from 1/100 to 1/400:

Funnily enough just came across this thread and noticed that I have the exact same set-up with lenses as you do in that picture. Same case, same layout of rokinon cine lenses, my canon 24-70 L series lens, label sticker on back of each lens cap, etc. Then I saw your name which topped it all off. A person I've worked with before mentioned you to me about a week ago, Kortney Olsen. I've been shooting her stuff down here in Melbourne and she told me your shooting her stuff up in Queensland! Such a small world!!!

Hi Dominik I have a question about your 85mm cine. I bought a Rokinon 85mm stills lens before they released the Cine version. I found that on this lens the focus is the stiffest of all of my lenses. I own a 35mm Rokinon Cine lens and the focus is very smooth. My question is on your 35mm and 85mm is the focus the same amount of resistence or is the 85 more stiff. I would hate to buy another Rokinon 85mm in cine version this time and find it is still a stiff focus but with follow focus gears.

My gears on 24, 35, 85 are all smooth. Not loose but smooth

Did you guys see the new 16mm 2.0? Just came out, not cine unfortunately.
I like getting an extra stop compared to my Tokina. But I need the cine modded lens. I feel spoiled. Kinda. I'm sure the cine style is just around the corner. Wonder how vignetting is. We shall see
