  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ridley Scott and Dariusz Wolski...

I had thought Tony Scott would be the first of them to choose the Epic. Will be amazing to se what Epic movies Ridley can do with a Epic!

The cool thing is that an Indie filmmaker can afford to own and shoot the same camera that is being used on the biggest budget/blockbuster movies. I can't remember that ever being the case...

That is calling "Revolution" and there is no monopoly on cinema more!
In some past there was monopoly on land, on religion, on liberty of speech, on FREEDOM! But some people destroied it in the past! Now you have destroyed the monopoly on Cinema! For me and some of us monopoly on Cinema is the monopoly on FREEDOM! And I hope you will destroy monopoly on cinema in 2011!

And Don't sell please THE RED to Sony or Panasonic even for billions dollars! They will destroy RED to continue sell their small cameras!

Okay, this is getting fun.

RED's Normandy however, will be Spielberg. Lets see if he's next to contract the red fever!

As long as it doesn't end up being one bridge too far! Nah, who am I kidding - everyone loves EPIC! :001_wub:

Would love to work one of these productions just so I can get some early epic action:-P

Moore's Law now applies to cinematography

Twice the quality for half the price

Except with Epic it's more like 3 times the quality for 1/5 the price

Talking with Brook, Steve, and Zach on set, we were wondering how to explain Epic's power elegantly. This is it in terms of size, resolution, and fps:

haha!

That's really great news ! We're about to see the future great movies... all shot on epic ! ;)

This is great news, but no one has commented on what it means for those of us that invested deposits on the Epic stage. I didn't hesitate for one second before stumping up my $5,000, but I'm a realist and in the current financial climate nothing is a cast iron certainty. But with these continuing industry validations, the stock, real or notional, is rising and I suspect it will bring forward my personal 'epic' day.

Wow! This is awesome! I think it's safe to say that with the Epic Red is really close to no longer being an "outsider" in the film industry but rather the standard. This is an amazing achievement on so many levels... congrats to you all.

Seeing stuff like this really puts into perspective how far Red has come since the cryptic rumors of a s35 camera on the various forums back in 2005. I'm so thankful to have been able to witness and, to some degree, take part in this bit of history!

Cheers,

Omar
+1

Well said Omar. :-)
