Red#0031 Camera, Fincher Direction & Lubezki Cinematography Nominated for DGA Award

I just found out that our Spot, Nike "Fate" was nominated for a DGA award for Commercials...maybe first RED Shot content to be recognized by one of the top annual award shows?

anyway, David did not win, but just the chance to be in that field says a lot about the camera and should enlighten some of the critics.. congrats jim and team for making it this far....i am very sure that in a few years the award shows will be flooded with red shot content.

happy shooting.

Great Dino!

I love that commercial!!

Just curious...
Do you remember what lenses were used in the commercial?

Marcelo:

we used master primes, focal lengths were all over the place.

Kosmos, was an HD version of that ad ever made available?

no hd avail

no hd avail

i have not been authorized to distribute this ad. however i did watch a graded d5 version at the effects house and it was very very nice.

we did show an hdcam version at HD EXPO last year, along with a companion piece about the making of from the effects house.

i will inquire. about getting a better quicktime which can be shared with this group.

It's not a surprise that it was nominated...easily one of the best commercials I've seen in a long while.

Personally, I think the SD version from the web looks incredible...can only imagine what the master looks like!

Beautiful work, indeed.
