  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: RED ADOBE CS4 INSTALLER (v1.3.0)

Ok , this is quiet cool you could say...

I surelly hopes that premiere holds up well and doesn't crash all the time like it did when i used it in combi with canopus storm for editing dv... Hope they have fixed it...
at least I must admit I've been editing on a system with a matrox axio uncompressed hd system, where it didn't fail one in a 2 week non stop editing and rendering job..., so it could be depending who and how your computer is put together, and in both jobs it was done by real professionals soo??????

Hopefully this time better..

Tested a little- Premiere worked _OK!
Imported Premiere project into After Effects and worked_ OK!

Thank you RED team!

Running a 3.2 X 8 core mac pro w/ 16g of ram

I know no one reads the readme files in the downloads or the release history on the RED.com support page, but you really should :)

It works really good on my macbook pro.

I have a really weird problem:

The R3D Installer won't run. It freezes for some time and then says:

Could not access network location *temp*.

It's somehow related to my LAN connection, cause when i disable it, it runs immediately but says: out of disk space on Volume %temp%, space required 1520K, space available 0; free some disk space and try again.

I have lotsa space and defragmented and cleaned and everything.

Help !!! :waaa:

(Win XP 32 bit, updated)

Just a quick note on people not using the recommended configs (8 core & 8GB Vista64/OSX 10.5) These configs were based on full workflow. I think it's fair to say that you can have a good editing experience on a "lesser" machine/laptop for rough cutting and content preview.Having a laptop on set to quickly review content works quite well. We were careful not to give the assumption that you could complete a full 4K out running on a laptop. The main issue is really more about RAM. QuadCores with 8GB of RAM will have have a good experience but no question that 8 Core users will see better performance. Take a look at the workflow video to see how to get your system working at it's peek. --- DKH

This is "It" This is the Shit.

All thats left is for Pandoras Box to be opened up and we are home free.

It is running well on a XP32 2.4 quad core, 4 GB and a GeForce 8800 GTS with 512 MB here, will test on a few other platforms ASAP.

Great job RED and Adobe, this makes my day!

What's a good 2k workflow configuration settings for 8 core mac pro's with 8gb ram or more? Currently I have source settings at:

Format: 4K
Resolution: Half HQ
Quality: Highest
Chroma Denoise: Off
Deayer Detail: high
OLPF compensation: off
Maximum Bit Depth checked

On my 8 core 3GHz/16GB system some clips playback fine and others don't... most playback normal speed after 2x. Why is it that when you play clips a few times they then playback smoothly? I would love to achieve smooth playback on all clips at 2k res.

So far this is a whole lot better than the Final Cut Pro workflow. You guys kicked ass on this. I may just be switching over to Premiere for the next 4.5 months at least.
