Rehoused Nikon AIs or Leica group buy

[Bob Gundu]

Here is a picture of the first DEMO-version of Leica-R`s from GL
I think they look amazing!

Option of interchangable version (EF and PL)
77mm filter threads

Hope we can get a group buy on these..

Where is GL going to get all these vintage lenses from?

[Chad Lancaster]

I think you have to send in your own lenses. Knowing how hard it is to get some high quality R lenses, I wouldn't want someone just picking out whatever lenses they can get a hold of.

I have been in conversation with Nan about this and he says that sending in your own lenses is a bad idea because of Chinese customs. He believes that getting high quality used lenses will not be a problem.

Good luck with that.. most R lenses I've found are beat to shit, it takes a lot of time and research to find ones in good condition.

Eastern Enterprises have an excellent Nikon rehousing service. Id be interested in a TLS version if this proceeds and would consider other rehousing.

Damn those look nice rehoused. I've got a wonderful set that I'd seriously want rehoused. I might be going for a gig in china later this year. Could be easiest to just drop the set off over there on the same trip.

Hello David,

Any news on the groupbuy?

[David Kellermann]

Nan nearly finished the Leica lenses. I'll post more about them here, as soon as they are finished.

I was in China a few months ago and In Shanghai alone with basically one main camera market there is a plethora of Leica R lenses in pristine condition for excellent prices. I wish I was flush wish cash when I was there. maybe next time,.
