The REDVOLT XL MODULE is finally shipping. We have added LEDs behind the grill on the module so when you use the module as a stand-alone or mounted charger you can see charging progress with the camera off.

With its reversible SWITCH PLATE, the REDVOLT XL MODULE can be mounted directly to the camera brain or onto a module.

When the AC POWER ADAPTOR (DSMC) is plugged in, the attached REDVOLT XL will charge and can be hot-swapped while camera is running (the REDVOLT XL MODULE works as a portable REDVOLT XL charger with indicator LEDs when separated from camera). The on-board 2-pin 0B AUX port provides a convenient 3.8A power source for 3rd party camera accessories (such as the RED W.M.D.).

Wow Jarred. You guys are busy today. Thanks for all the new bits and the info on Dragon. Hmmm, still waiting for big announcement on projector....

IHow big are the inventory???

.. I had to change an order today for the bricks... can i change it back for the XL module ?

I love this efficient way to power up! and it looks so good as well!

Initial batch of inventory will start shipping tomorrow. Availability depends on how many orders we get between now and then : )

We also created a simple collection for people who now want to jump into REDVOLT XL as their battery option....

4x REDVOLT XL
1x REDVOLT XL MODULE
1x POWER ADAPTOR

You can use the power adaptor to either power your brain OR charge batteries on the REDVOLT XL MODULE.

RED working overtime... I love it.

How long does a charged XL last (approx only as it'll vary depending on what's attached to the brain)... just wondering if there's any info on life vs power draw etc :)

Roughly.. an hour. Depends what you are doing and what you are powering so can swing both ways.

Yes!!! Been living for three monthes with my four small Redvolts while waiting for this. 'Finally' may sound like an ungrateful word, but thats how I feel :) Also, was thinking how to protect the module connections while traveling etc, but saw the cap now, in the store. Great!! Thanks, & Marry Christmas!! ;)

Yeah i totally forgot to talk about that rubber boot that covers the back of the module. I love the charger part of this module.. I always hated how the other chargers hogged up more room than the camera when i was trying to travel light, and given the fact the REDVOLT XL batteries are right under the limit for carry on batteries it makes for a much more relaxing flight.

Does it take the same amount to charge as the Quad Charger? Thanks!

The same.. just under 2 amps of charging juice. The Quad Charger still wins with speed though, it does the same x 2 charging both sides at the same time.

Would you happen to have information available on whether or not you'll need to pop off the XL battery from the charger, wait a couple minutes for it to cool, then throw it back on to get full 100% charging? That's something I had to do before with the quad charger and XLs.

Also, what is the life of each battery in terms of recharge life?

Come to daddy :-)

Beautiful... Just love the camera with the XL Redvolt module... No more sticking out cumbersome V-Lock batteries... ;)

Size wise it looks like its sticking out alot. But atleast less on the height. Looks cool thoe:)

The actual mounting point depth of the module is pretty thin so if you have a REDVOLT XL, it will only add a little length on top of that from front to back.
