  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT-V Battery

My RedVolt showed up today! Super light and really small! Thank you Jarred for making these amazing batteries. After two tests I get about 35-40 minutes of use. There are some pictures comparing the size against the DynaCore 155 batteries which are amazing as well.

Can you fill me in on what you did for your tests? Is that 35-40 minutes continuous record time?
 
Yes. I did a continues record test and got around the 38 to 39 minute mark. Thank you!

Cool that you did that. Hoping you will redo the test after 25, 50, 100 cycles and share those findings here.
 
They're so much smaller than I expected. That comparison with the Dyna 155s is definitely revealing. Might need a set of these to save the arms on run and gun days. :)
 
Just did a test on my Epic-W...

Hit record and yanked DC power at the same time to see how long it would last recording 8K r3d @30fps... Used the DSMC V-Mount expander, EF lens, side handle, and 7" DSMC2 touch monitor.

Got exactly 36 mins before the shutdown prompt popped up.... not too bad! :)

Great form factor for a V-Mount!!
 
This is a great addition for the accessories with the ability to offer a wide range of solutions for being in production. Had my RED EPIC-W on a jib yesterday and the V Mount battery I had was too big. The jib didn't function as it should because of the weight and the RED VOLT XL wasn't a solution because I needed PTap for the wireless follow focus and PARALINX ACE!! NOW THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION!!
 
Just got my 3-pack, lovely. And my old Sony dual charger works just fine, bonus. Now for me, Irma. See ya on the other side.
 
these seem to be shipping again as I just got notification. Fingers crossed RED have addressed the issues on this new batch.
 
Anyone used these? Thinking about grabbing one or two for my movi. Thoughts on run time?
 
On my Epic-W, I get about 45-minutes or runtime on one of these. They are really slick, really cool, and keep the package small and light (often my main priority), but the runtime is difficult to deal with. If you have some extra funds, the Hawk-Woods mini v-lok 98wh are also tiny, close to the same weight, and give you more than double the runtime. Not as snug as the Red batteries, but pretty great and should work well with gimbal setups.
 
Selling a 3-pack of these batteries. Only has 3-4 charges on each one. Bought them to use with our 3-axis gimbal but recently sold it for a steadicam. If your interested, PM me, selling for $600 OBO. Located in Atlanta.
