  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red's Delivery

Out of curiousity, what exact technical specs are you referring to that can't be found on the Scarlet product site or here:
Scarlet X Data Sheet

I want to know so I'll add them to the Data Sheet page :)

I would love to know how many Watts it draws on average with a mix of 50% recording 50% monitoring to estimate how long a REDVolt and Brick would last.

I believe via a 30wh RedVolt you'll be getting between 30 and 35 minutes of pure battery during that type of operation. I'll be running some tests and Tonaci's already shared his "idle test" which I believe included the LCD Touch. So a 90wh battery should be about 3x that. The RedBrick is 140wh so around 2.5 hours max estimate.

Getting an exact number on this can be difficult. Is the LCD Touch or Bomb EVF plugged in? Redmote? DSMC Side Handle? Using an external EVF that's not drawing from camera power? Using electronic interface lenses like Canon EF? Anything plugged into HDMI? Those can all play into to battery draw. Personally i'd be curious to see the operation time with and without the LCD Touch hooked up.

It's also important to note that this figure will change once Red adds power management functionality to the firmware, which is on it's way.
