  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDRAY 4K versions of Tattoo, Loom, and the new Dragon Reel

Now with REDRAY shipping we should try to collect links and give tips on how to share your own content and so on. Would be good to have a list of content-providers (private and commercial) in one place, don't you think?

Exactly what I was thinking.

+1, i'll contribute... and then when i get -it that must not be named- we'll be in business

probably some of y'all might wanna check this out... good for folder sharing.
perhaps a partnership, jarred? that'd piss off all the right players (:

is the dragon reel available anywhere else in hd like youtube or vimeo??? for those of us who don't have redray???

It´s time to find the perfect 4K tv (within budget). Looking foreword to this

I will think a bit on this.

Having to make a searchable database from getgo, will (for me) be limiting.

I guess a simple list will have to do.

I'll make a sticky when I have thought a bit and get home. Monday'ish.

best

Jarred,

You didn't have to do this, but you did! Thanks so much! Downloading now! Can't wait to show these on our REDRAY!

+1 for the REDRAY Content Thread. Yes, maybe we can start our own CDN, why not???

I'm up late tonight and have had Tattoo on my REDRAY already and enjoyed it a lot, but damn that Dragon reel and Loom are freaking fantastic. Extraordinary.

Sweet... now I just need stuff to play it back... d'oh!

Yes, but I really wanted one powered by lasers… :)

This is great!

Maybe a silly idea, but...
What if we made a thread of RedRay encoded content...
I guess a few of us will master some RR content and serve it from our servers here and there...

Not really Odemax, but it would be a way of distributing content...

I think this is a great idea. Maybe it will turn into something big.

Wow that was fast. Thats a nice surprise for Easter. Thank you very much Jarred!
So it begins. :)

I think i need to hurry up getting a 4k-TV and RR.

@Gunleik, at the moment i think a sticky and simple list of links will do just fine. Let's see how fast it grows and what else comes in mind. We just should do it in one place, all together and not start multiple lists here and there. Thats the important part. I think reduser.net is the right place.

If you want/need help to maintain that kind of list let me know.

Nice Jeff... Is that the 500ES or the 1000ES?

It's the 600ES -- Identical to the 500ES, but here in the USA it's the 600… don't know why they did that...

Here's a conversation I had (well in my dreams) with RED...

RED - The only way you get what you want is to invent something that no-one thinks is possible

Me - You can do that?

RED - My dear, sweet child. That's what we do. It's what we live for. To help unfortunate production folk like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to.

I then bust out into a lyrical song:

I'll admit in the past I've owned different cameras
They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a DSLRitch
But you'll find that nowadays
I've mended all my ways
Repented, seen the light, and made the switch
To RED...Yes!

And I fortunately know about RED cameras
It's a talent that I always have possessed
And dear sir, please don't laugh
I use my Epic on behalf
Of creating 4k, and 5k content, and only watching in 1080 :crying:

Poor unfortunate soul
In pain...in need
This one longing to get a REDRAY
That one wants a 4K TV
And does RED help us....yes they do!

Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They go flocking to the red store
Clicking add to cart, pay now
And does RED help us with a new store look?
But of course!

Now it's happened once or twice
RED slashed the price
And I'm afraid so many of us got upset
Even though we may file complaint
RED is still a production saint
To us poor....unfortunate....SOOOOUUULLLLLSSSS!

Dreaming I was watching the Dragon reel on a 65+ inch 4K TV hooked up to a redray. We can dream right?

I don't have to dream. I picked up a 70" UHD 4K display before NAB. However, I will say at the moment I have many things going on in this workspace that I've been dreaming about most of my professional career.

Not going to lie. Seeing footage right here of this quality is utterly mind blowing and a somewhat emotional experience.

Major jealous of you Phil, though of anybody on this forum, you're probably one of the ones who most deserves it.

One idea, maybe allready mentioned but would it not be super easy to set up a redray bittorent site preferably under www.red.com/torrents/
or such and then just do what the pirates do. download and chair bandwith.
I think many here got good internet, We got a server that runs with 1k Mb/s both directions, so if everyone interested keep a little redray torent archive those files would be super fast to download. and everyone can share their file in something better than piss poor vimeo quality.

Can something like the torrent site (or similar) be accessible straight from the RR unit?
