Just in time for our Ti Canon mount to (hopefully) ship this week so that we can commence shooting! :D

Great! Im very exited to install the update tomorrow.
By the way Jim, is there any timeframe for audio playback in camera?

Our customers continue to motivate us to get better. We feel a terrific connection to everyone here. Thanks for that.

Jim

That's true indeed. And not just motivate us, but help us and support us and keep us going and are our friends. Thanks.

Graeme

Very excited to rediscover what we've got here...and now to start looking at the online for our feature (I was specifically waiting for this).

Thanks Jim, Graeme, and all Team Red.

We are going to release these tomorrow.

Understand that this is fully re-written color science even though the results may seem subtle. Subtle but meaningful. REDcolor3 may look, at 1st blush, like REDcolor2 plus a bit of saturation... look more closely.

Graeme has done an incredible job with these... going the last mile is as difficult as going the 1st 100 miles.

We will release both a camera firmware and a REDCINE-X Pro upgrade. Open your old files with RC3 and RG3. You will be amazed.

My preferred workflow is now RG3/RC3 and Alchemy set to 0.350 (default) and post saturation set to 1.10 (optional). DI will typically still start with REDlogFilm and REDcolor3.

Shooting RAW (REDCODE RAW in this case) is the way to go. Getting locked down recording an RGB codec is very limiting. RC3 and RG3 is proof.

I love RED. Every time we improve our color science I can go back and look at old files in a new way. Pretty exciting.

Obsolescence obsolete... every which way you look at it.

Jim

Aj,
We start shooting tomorrow... If I would have known this I could probably have convinced the DOP to stay of that other arri camera. But thanks so much any way. Question what happens on the 3:rd party market. Autodesk flame for example I guess it will take some time before they do an update or?

No s/w update scheduled at this time for RED ONE, Peter. However...

However? however what? Kinda disappointed there isn't one for the one.... not because it needs vast sweeping improvements, but rather cause it could use something like long exposure times.... sorry I gotta keep plugging that one cause i think it would be awesome.

ok, just wanted to know - thanks for the info.
It's better to have clear statements now then being disappointed later on ;)

And I'm sure the "However..." holds some meaning to it so I'm very curious about the future of the RED One.
We've also got an EPIC-X so I'll be happy to update that one in the meantime, was just hoping for some "love" for our long-time workhorse
(if I were a R1 I'd feel a bit abandoned/left behind right now :P), after all it's a camera still used a lot on jobs on a tight budget - every single/small improvement would help the people still using it (also the rentals)...

Not exactly sure... probably afternoon PST.

Jim

You guys are making my day today. EpicX 1994 ready and standing by, thank you all so much for everything from an amazing camera and tools to make it all better and better and again better, never stop better.

Best,
Frazier
