  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Professional Build 35 Beta

When transcoding a project with 80 6KHD clips and the most recent drivers/firmware for Rocket-X and DNx36 1080 transcodes RC-X35 crashes a few clips in constantly. had to install previous release build and it worked fine.

That was MBPro with a GRaid Studio-XL attached via Tbolt.

I also had to take it off our machines. Lots of lock ups, and coloured spinning wheels.
We have gone back a version.

I'll wait until the next update,

Thanks Grant. :)

Nice looking interface changes. Lots of great features packed in here. But this build is unusable for us. Constantly getting 'OFFLINE' errors due to "too many open clips". Also, please add cursor twirling to the Media browser. Less forced mouse-clicks the better. Looking good but will wait for next version.

Thanks for the feedback. We are actively working on a 35.1 to address these issues.

Thanks for the patience.

David

It's not as bad as with 34, but I'm still getting around 5-second periods of unresponsiveness every time a clip or timeline starts buffering while CUDA or OpenCL is enabled in build 35. This is while running on a 2014 Macbook Pro with GeForce 750m with OSX 10.9.5.

Edit: I'm also noticing a bug while setting in-points on clips. After pressing I to set an in-point, the playhead doesn't jump back to the beginning of the clip's altered timeline (i.e. if I set an in-point 5 seconds into a clip, the playhead will remain 5 seconds into the clip's new timeline rather than staying with the moment in the clip I had selected). I hope that explanation makes sense.

I just installed today and now my Rocket card is not being recognized. I have it in an Sonnet Echo Express 3 TB2 enclosure, its always worked until today. Any hints?

I am enjoying v35 right now. Just one issue - my BlackMagic SDI output card is not recognised at all...

Serge,

Please ensure that you're on the latest Desktop Video drivers for your Blackmagic card.

Are the frame guides supposed to come on automatically in RCXp/Frame? All of my clips have a 2.4:1 crop automatically enabled when loaded off the mag into RCXp35 when I have the 2.4:1 Frame Guides enabled on camera (which I use for reference even when capturing full sensor).

Not a big deal (as I can disable it), but am I missing something?

CONVERSELY, I would absolutely love for DRX to be default-able to '1.00' in the embedded r3d metadata on MX-based DSMC cameras. Would save a boatload of pink-highlight hassles when handing off footage.

Yeah…I keep getting the "Clips offline…too many open clips" thing. Never seen that before. It also refuses to save any project. It somehow generates a backup file but not the actual project file. Pretty much only use it for transcodes and conforms but it's kinda annoying.

Hi Jarek,

It's a known issue and has been addressed. We'll be putting out an update as soon as it is ready.

Thanks,
David

Rob,

Can we at least confirm it's never going to happen? No need to keep the tease up.

Sorry, but this is too funny not to quote :)

DisplayPort is not enabled yet, beyond that we'll see.
