  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 449...

I find the Win7/64 version of this release to be completely unusable (see bug list mentioned earlier). RedCine-X has been getting progessively worse for Windows. The last release where you can turn the Red Rocket monitor on/off/on without crashing the application is 252.

Then don't do that :) Seriously, I don't find it's progressively worse. On the contrary things are getting better and this particular build is working better for me (Win 7 64) than any since 252. I would rather have a reliable - and stable - workaround like just closing and restarting RCX before turning the Rocket monitor-out on or off.

The thing I would like to see a solution for is the fact that you can't have the external monitor and internal viewer on at the same time. The problem being you look at the internal viewer for all the video controls and the image on the viewer is not the one you are working with. If it is not possible to have some sort of feedback or passthrough to have the both on I suggest one of the following:

1. At least put a still on the internal viewer of the first frame of the active clip, or

2. Failing that just have the viewer black so that there is no confusion.

Cheers

John

I didn't see anybody else mentioning the EDL import problem so here it goes:

Win7 64bit: EDL import is not working any more.

It lets me setup all the usual options but no clips are imported in the timeline or bin and no crash or error message is coming up.

RC-X 416ER is working fine though.

Miltos,

Can you send your EDL to redcinex at red dot com please?
I'd like to take a look at that.

David

I'm having the problem when I minimize/hide build 449 whatever window I've selected disappears once I maximize the program again.

Build 449, OSX 10.6.9, Red Rocket, Mac Pro

Just wondering if anybody else is running into the same small bug I am where in 449/64bit os10.6.6 nearly every time I command+H Rcx my browser/bin/export window disappears, especially when exporting. Thoughts on possible fixes?
A fix for this will be in the next release. A workaround for 449 is to make sure another window that can be toggled on/off using the Window menu is the active window before doing a Cmd+H. Then when it disappears, toggle it off then on using the Window menu or by using its shortcut key.

Good tip. I'll work with that. The other work around has been to command+TAB to cycle programs. Either way better than rolling firmware back to 356.

Thanks

Using the MC Color, the wheels are still WAY too sensitive to use. With 32 and 64 bit versions. We are on Mac with current Eucon. Is there any way to adjust?

Hi Paul, can you send me an email on this? rob at red dot com

Thanks!

I'm with you Paul, I've been waiting a long time to use my MC Color with Redcine-x properly.

I'm also having a new issue with the Red Rocket displaying nothing but Black in the RCX viewer. It seems to only happen after I have put my machine (OS X 10.6.7) to sleep and resumed. The only way to to restore functionality seems to be reinstalling the driver, powering down, cut off power supply for 30 seconds then power on again. I'm using 64-bit and have 24Gb Ram.
