  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 346...

Also when I try to make some transcode whit red rushes, looks like going good but at the end just the blue line it advances but PROGESS and Current keeps in %0 and 0.

I download again the software and keeps the same.

Hi David, pretty sure Red Rushes doesn't work with the later Red Builds.

Everyone should migrate to RedCine X, it's tremendous and can batch files the same way Red Rushes did but better.

For my own sanity, is there anyway we can streamline and/or move the REDCine X updates into their own thread? I'm greatful for all the updates but trying to locate the latest ones is getting difficult, especially having to sift through all the other RECON stuff.

Hola about 32bit or 64 bit ?

If I download 64bit my Mac Pro recognize automatically or I need change something?

Mac Pro 2.93 GHz 12gb Ram 6 Core

... Thanks DTC

If it starts, your mac has recognized it and is capable of using it.

Last time I tried the 64 bit (340), renders with redline/rocket were very slow, while the 32 bit rendered as fast as one would expect.

Dunno what the case would be with direct renders.

I use RCX in combination with Clipfinder, only to get RedlogFilm and have a 10-bit sdi preview when I occationally need it - currently, Clipfinder handles all the offline and online tasks beautifully and integrates with RCX with the push of a button + it conforms with RCX renders.

I also find it a much better tool for working with large groups of files and the firstlight interface is fast and tidy to work with. AFAIK it is the only non-RED sourced tool that has intergrated the all neccesarry curve into its RED-metadata-editor and handles other formats without crashing.

This is NOT a stab at RC-X!
I am just making the point that for larger form online/offline workflows Clipfinder extends the functionality of RCX in an extremily helpfull and - dare I say - professional, manner. -:)

Good to know for those of us who need it.

we have trouble here trying to render side by side quicktimes. it will always render one eye only and once we restart the software the 3d options in our export presets are disabled again, no matter what was saved earlier. Any ideas or experiences with that?

We've fixed the issue for the next build.

Why the 346 is slower as the 340 ???

Not quite sure what you are saying.. but 346 doesn't appear to be slower.

Though it is possible if you were using invalid crop settings on a clip that 346 will now be clipping your crop settings to available image data area effectively doing a different export than it was erroneously allowing previously.

Are there any plans to change the ordering of clips when they're put into bins? It doesn't make any sense for the clips to be unsorted & unordered. It also doesn't make sense that the clips be unsorted in the export list.

It would make sense for the clips to be organized in order by name & number.

Should be an easy and needed fix.

Thanks,
Craig

Yes there are plans to do that.

Delete file not working. 346 Win 7 64

In Windows: When you first open RX 346 after a fresh machine start, you can select and delete a file. But once you have put a clip in the Viewer, you cannot delete any clips at all - until you do a machine re-boot.

Also, In previous versions the last directory open is the default on restart. That is lost and it goes back to root.

Cheers

just managed to get some time to look at 346. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a change... In 340 when applying a crop I was able to apply an existing saved crop and then adjust the Origin values in the crop section of the Framing controls tab. In 346, while I can apply the saved crop I can no longer adjust the origin values. This is a bit of an inconvenience as I often want to simply change the x origin when I crop out a 16 x 9 aspect ratio of the 4480 x 1920 frame but keep the 4K resolution. Is this a bug or a change? Thanks.

The only time those origin boxes are editable is when the crop setting is set to "Custom".
