REDCINE-X Build 346...

Why does Red-cine use so little of my Mac's available resources?
Am I doing something wrong?
I have an 8 core MacPro with 16Gb of RAM. Only 23% of CPU is used when outputting R3D files to ProRes HQ's.
Please don't bother telling me I need to buy a Red Rocket, I'm aware of what it does and it's price.
Any help much appreciated, thanks.

Start several REDline processes.

for REDCINE-X...
what are the minimum graphics requirements?

and/or recommended cards?

In your export preset within the Options tab you can choose to use REDline (software only) and then increase the number of simultaneous REDLines until you find an optimal value for your system.

Maybe I'm not being clear on the "lasso" function. It works fine when the browser or bins are in thumbnail display mode, but I can't click/drag to highlight multiple clips when viewing those in list mode. Neither can the Ast. Editor I'm working with on his machine running 340.
Try using shift-click to select a contiguous group of clips. You can then combine that with command/ctrl-click to select clips just about as fast as using a lasso.

When I drag from the browser to a bin, the order of the clips is still wrong and random. Can this be fixed so the clips are ordered numerically?

Also, in previous versions (321 for example) you were able to use the arrow keys to make changes to different values in the Look settings.

Now - when I use arrow keys it changes the clip in the viewer. Very annoying.
Is there another keyboard alternative for making small, accurate changes to the color values?

Try using the list view in the browser. Clips in the thumbnail view (in bin and browser) are initially unsorted. Use the list view to get a sorted view of the clips, then from there drag them to the bin.

Another way is to switch from thumbnail view to list view, then back to thumbnail view. The sort order from the list view will then be transferred to the thumbnail view.

Grant,
Are there any plans of changing this? To be completely honest, it doesn't make any sense for the clips to be unsorted. It also doesn't make sense that the clips be unsorted in the export list.

Should be an easy and needed fix.

Thanks,
Craig

Loving the RCX with every new update more and more.... thanks guys!

Couple of persistent issues this morning though:

- Random clips mysteriously disappear from the bins, after the restart of the saved project. Once re-imported the color information is lost.

- Clips import fine but it tells me that, again random clips, have no content. The content sometimes returns after relaunch, but sometimes it doesn't.

- App often crashes (80% of the time) when switching from external monitor back to regular view.

I find this to be pretty annoying as well. I wish it was sorted in thumbnail view according to clip name by default.

Also when I try to make some transcode whit red rushes, looks like going good but at the end just the blue line it advances but PROGESS and Current keeps in %0 and 0.

I download again the software and keeps the same.

i'm not seeing the updated manual in the download (w64)... anyone know where to find it?

EDIT: it's only in the mac package...
