Hi Everyone,
This isn't my first thread regarding this. I thought this problem would be fixed with the new release but I still have the same issue.

I can't access the video compression settings box for QuickTime. I click on the button but nothing happens.

Someone told me it is a permissions issue between REDCINE-X and 10.8, how do I fix this? I can't be the only one having this issue, surely it needs sorting out. If I didn't have Resolve this past 6-7 months I would have really struggled.

Any advice welcome,

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

Open up Disk Utility and select your main hard drive (usually named Macintosh HD). On the First Aid tab, hit the "Repair Permissions" button. That should start the process and fix any file permissions errors.

Thanks for the reply Grant. Unfortunately this hasn't fixed the problem.

Can anyone out there confirm they are using 10.8 with REDCINE and getting access to the video codecs window for QuickTime?

Yes 10.8.5 here and quicktime codec export settings working fine with RCX 22.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the response, really appreciate it.
The issue started when I updated to 10.8, all other codecs work fine, it just seems to be QuickTime. I have output presets saved on my machine from before my update, for example a QuickTime PreRes HQ one that I can still use to output. So it seems QuickTime still works. Other applications work fine, which leads me to believe it is an issue between REDCINE and the OS somehow. The same thing happened with previous versions of REDCINE and other people posted with the same issue.

Same thing happens if I try and create a new preset.

Thanks Bob, where would I find the prefs file?

not sure it will help but you can always try to move them outside the folder to test. They are located here :

/Users/xxx/Library/Application Support/red/redcineX/Presets/ExportPresets

I can't seem to find that directory, just in case I'm doing something wrong.

I start at the top level, so:

Macintosh HD> Users> (My name)> No Library folder there?

So I tried:

Macintosh HD> Users> Shared> Library> Application Support> No Red folder there

So I tried:

Macintosh HD> Library> Application Support> Red> No redcineX Folder in there, just Frame works and plugins.

Just tried:

Macintosh HD> Users> (My Name)> Documents> Red Presets> Interestingly only 1 of 2 my presets is in there. Could this be an issue?

New here. Your issue is popping up for me and I wonder if you ever got it resolved? In my case it's with Avid Media Composer. Clicking the Settings button does nothing. No Quicktime Compression Settings dialogue at all.

Any insight is appreciated.
