  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Here are some crappy pics of #88 taken with my cell phone... .....attached on the back is the ELEMENT TECHNICA BACK (GOLD MOUNT) and IDX AB to V-Mount adapter and PAGlink battery. The DSMC MODULAR ASSAULT PLATE is attached to the bottom. RED says that it's WEAPON compatible but IT IS NOT. I have it turned around so that it will fit. EDIT: IF YOU HAVE A WEAPON AND NEED TO HAVE YOUR PLATE MODIFIED, THERE IS NOW A PROGRAM FOR THAT (see Brent's post later in this thread).

The case seems to be the same one that comes with the FORGED... Very nice!.

There's room for at least six minimags (combined) in these two pockets (underneath where the monitor sits)....

Joe,

I should have my Weapon in a couple of weeks and I was assuming I could use my DSMC MODULAR ASSAULT PLATE but you are suggesting its only compatible if turned back to front? This would then mean the 15mm LW rod adaptor can no longer be on the front of the camera?

I didn't think I would like the handle all that much but I really like it. ...having the record button right under your thumb is nice!

When I first attached it, the button wouldn't work but after restarting, it works perfectly. I DO wish it would turn around and point in the other direction. I'd also like it to be mountable in other locations on the camera. Sadly, there are safety pins preventing it from being mounted elsewhere (or in reverse).

That is correct. The plastic cover (the front of the camera, under the PL mount) protrudes out too far and keeps the ASSAULT PLATE from having the proper fit.

Really bummed to hear this. What are folks using as a bridgeplate for it? The company that shall not be named?

You focused on LLO and STD? No love for the STH? Every time I see STH, I read (Sith) in m head. Its been a while since I used the STH. When I switched from fixed to interchangeable OLPF, I went back to LLO. I started with original OLPF, then had STH in backwards, then STH in correctly and finally LLO.

How the F could red say it was compatible then? Did the NEVER mount it or what?

Ditto! What a bummer!! I though it was going to be compatible. This is one of the best features of the QR plate. We use 15mm LW exclusively these days. Having the rods connected to the QR plate is ESSENTIAL!

RED, anything you can do to rectify this situation? Modify the front plate or Assault Plate so it works?

Joe was nice enough to bring in his new CF Weapon to Keslow Camera Atlanta where my assistants are prepping. We all thought it was beautiful. I truly handsome little jewel.Thank you Joe for taking the time.

Joe, can you post a pic of the assault plate and where it is blocked by the front of the camera? Curious where it needs to be shaved down to make work. I assume it is not the rod holder since that comes off.

Is it too high and needs to be shaved down or from the inside where it touches the front of the camera?
