  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My first WOVEN CF WEAPON arrived today! WOVEN CF #88!! :emote_happyhappy:

In case you're wondering what happened to 1-87, I was told by my rep that they're just grabbing serial numbers off the shelf at random.

I'll post some pics and some thoughts a little later.

Hang in there guys! If you're trading in a CF EPIC, you should be hearing from RED soon!
 
Congrats! How many minutes after they opened the store before you pressed BUY? I know I'm way down on the list, but I did order before the NAB special ran out...

...seconds. The button went live at 2:48am Pacific. I received my "Thank you for your order" email at 2:49.
 
Congratulations Joe! What was the turn around time from the day your old camera arrived at Red until they day the Woven shipped to you? Which OLPF did you end up getting installed? Did you order an LCD or any other accessories. The Jetpack was ready to ship a couple of weeks ago, but I passed for now.

I was going to ask about #88, but you answered that quickly. Obviously they have been busy building them. Guess you got your Woven before your Forged. :) My Dragon landed at Red yesterday, so now I wait patiently.

On a side note, my accidental order of a new Woven was also at 2:49 AM. My, correct, upgrade was at 3:32 AM.
 
Thanks Stacey! I got my notification on Friday, EDIT: (OCTOBER) 23rd and my CF EPIC arrived at RED HQ on Monday morning, EDIT: (OCTOBER) 26th . ...camera arrived today, so 8 business days (which is about what they said it would take). They gave me the option of choosing all 3 OLPFs so that's what I did. It came with the STANDARD OLPF installed. I already had the original 7" PRO LCD. I had also ordered a number of the ET AB battery backs. ET has sent me one so far and it's arleady on the camera. I have 4 of the NEW RED COLORED REDMAGs coming tomorrow! I will get a jetpack but I haven't ordered it yet.Yeah, was really surprised that the WOVEN came first. I think that someone from RED (maybe Jarred?) has said that they received a LOT more orders for FORGED than expected. Ah well... It is what it is. I patiently wait for my other cams on order. Did you have your "accidental" corrected or did you put in another on your own?

I put in another on my own and then cancelled the accident when they were back in the office.

I noticed the other day that the 512 and 1 TB cards are now the color red.

These are the first two woven CF's I've heard of going out. Any more out there??

We shot extensive tests, with LLO and STD (pun intended) OLPF's and Matt is going to upload the files-Prores and RLF, but it was 6 days of time, so switched to fewer files, first, which will be in the order of 3 day. Rather than give impressions, which were very favorable, in our analysis, just in camera viewing, though and a few peeks in RCX, etc., best to wait for more time to look at the files and anyone else can (and will) as well.

I have to say, that just finishing a soot tioday, it is a pleasure to have this camera on hand. More facile and intuitive, with several small adjuncts that echo the "Oh that's keel... Such as the red lights fore and aft on the side SSD module, which illuminate, when recording, the Sidekick's integration, with screen saver TC (don'tremember if Dragon had that), On screen immumination of recording modes, no blackshading wait time (to speak of), in camera mics for scratch track, if desired, etc..

One caveat-don't rest your hand, forearm on the RED top handle, indiscriminately-you may record some things you might not want to have recorded...

You focused on LLO and STD? No love for the STH? Every time I see STH, I read (Sith) in m head. Its been a while since I used the STH. When I switched from fixed to interchangeable OLPF, I went back to LLO. I started with original OLPF, then had STH in backwards, then STH in correctly and finally LLO.

Hi Stacey!

Your joy is mine. I followed your progression, as regards settling on the LLO. The posts on Sharpness of the STH OLPF and the lack of requests for that OLPF, from anyone renting my camera, as well, coupled with the hopefully 8K sensor release next month, put the brakes on the STH, in its current iteration. As you know, it has been mentioned that new form factor OLPF's will be required for 8K sensor. SO...with previous LLO joy and the slight hedge of Standard included with the upgrade package...

Even pics from the camera itself... I prefer the design of the woven more than the forged! (It's a such superficial question, sorry ;)
