why do I have a sense that with REDs styling even those who don't mind the name are going to have a hard time not seriously considering the stealth from a sheer design esthetic, like a naked bike or straight black matte finishes on so many items we love.

;) my thought exactly. I'm really anxious to see what it would look like. I like the naked, reduced style.

Also I'm one who, depending on where I am, tapes down logos to not attract too much attention to my gear. which is advisable in some areas of large cities. Especially when you're on your own. So I'd love a stealth version with a tough to see logo.

DAMMIT!! Now I can't decide which version I would choose! THANKS REDUSERS!!! :mad2:

;)

I was looking and getting a Mini Cooper last year and you can order a stealth version with no model name on the back. :)

Pretty much all Lamborghinis I know of comes as standard with NO model name on the exterior. It has the lambo logo and that is all. They are not the only high end auto maker.

A RED camera with no markings is in good company.

Hey Terry, google stealth, hit images, then google, weapon, hit images and tell me what is more...ah...compromising. A picture is worth a thousand words, words that I might not get to use to explain what I have in my hands. Getting on the internet is no problem for people anywhere in the world. A couple clicks and you are toast.

Scott - I think we are agreeing but I can't really tell. With stealth the definition is pretty innocuous and the images are of a military airplane. I don't think my camera will be confused with that. With weapon, I get lots of guns - not good. So, aren't we on the same side of the issue?? Like I said, I like Stealth better.

No one cares about Canon sounding like "Cannon", huh?

Canon, spelled differently than cannon, has been a brand since 1933. Seeing the word Canon on a piece of equipment is not likely to have the same impact, nor does it have the same brand issues, as Weapon.

Unless you you are kidding. In that case, never mind.

Can I have my Dragon upgrade emblazoned with "FURY"?"

Can I have a small turret and canon outcropping as well?

Thank you very much

Fury

Appreciate the candid discussion and all the feedback.

The name is here to stay.

There are some of you with genuine security concerns and for those that would prefer we will be offering a "stealth" Weapon without the Weapon branding engraved on it... simple check box at the time of order.
How can you argue with this logic? This is why you are so awesome, man! Thanks! I love the name! I just choose to have it stealthy! More dangerous that way!

Parents name their children with the name they love and want the world to call them by. Every name has a meaning, It take balls to name someone or something and stand by it no matter what the world may think. Cars, Companies, Children, dogs etc. acceptance and respect is calling it by the name it was given.

Does your business depend on selling your children?

I'm very grateful that Jarred listened. Stealth option is a good compromise.

Milan I see you missed my point. Jarred has a soft heart...could you pull this with any other company? Companies make and sell products, giving you the option to have something engraved on your camera is good compromise? Good for you...did the price change? =)

I think you missed my point. Having the courage to name your baby something that the world disproves of, may be commendable. Though that's debatable, especially if you made your child's early life a nightmare because of it.

Disregarding what your target market thinks of your product's name has different consequences.

I'm just glad Jarred compromised.

Hey Nick, "Fury" kind of tanks, but you can have a "canon" outcropping as long as you have an EF mount. They stick out from a pancake 24mm pea shooter to that 1200mm bazooka. As far as turrets go they went out when zooms came in.

WOW !
There is alot against on this pole....
Might be best they take notice. Or tell everyone to get stuffed :)

just in case you missed it mark. It's better than that!

Yes, please change the name. If you follow the current labeling, the side of the camera would say "Weapon Dragon." Huh?
Call it the RED 3, or if you must keep "Weapon" then make it "Secret Weapon."

Did I miss sensitivity training? Are there honestly people offended by the name?
I truly hope Jim sticks to his guns (or bazooka if you prefer)
