  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Rushes

I also have problems on a imac 24" (10.5.4, 4GB ram, FCP6.0.4, QT7.5)
RedRushes and the R3D automator action both render white frames when rendering to Prores. Using Redline directly in the terminal works as intended as does RedAlert. Very weird...

Both my MacBook and MacPro works as intended.

Anders, can you send me the RSX and the equivalent command line that works for you?

Yes.

Remember everything here is a work in progress. REDrushes was cranked out in a very short timespan and released so people could start using it asap. It's just the first version. If we waited we had time to add all the features we wanted then it'd be two months later before it got released and there would have been no opportunity for guys to use it a give feedback. Just saying...

This is why I am asking for the ability to be able to select RLX files...'cause I know you guys are always on the move to add/improve features.

Thanks Deanan!

You are my online manual!

Happy Sunday.

Also, if there's any way to add a few more functionality options.

1. The ability to shift + select multiple clips. (and command + select)
2. Some sort of option to not overwrite clips in the same destination folder with the same name. Rushes hung up this morning, had to reset it and realized there wasn't an efficient way to remove the 100% completed clips. You'd select it, and it would delete the one below it.

Thanks, love the program.

It should be in the same folder as the R3D file and it's holding the changes you made in REDAlert.

Dylan,

What is a .RLX file? I haven't seen this file yet?

Dusty

Hey Dustin

The RLX is the file format extension for a "look" that you save in REDALERT. ("save preset" creates an RLX file).

Not o be confused with the "autosaved" RSX file.

I hope that it might soon be possible to "upload" an RLX to the camera.

Manual anyone?

A little update:

We just finished using Rushes to create some 720P editorial QuickTimes from one of our red mags from a recent shoot.

Rushes worked flawless, even on my MacBook pro: processing 146 shots with a variety of 3 and 4K frame sizes. It took about 3 hours for all the shots.

What was the length of running time for the original material? ie. What sort of transcode ratio are you looking at R3D to 720PQT?

Thanks

Mike C

Thanks Anders. A test version in your email (and Uli's). Thanks for send the files!

I processed out 38 rolls of footage yesterday with some issues. After about 8 clips Red Rushes would slow dramatically, sometimes disconnecting the drives, and sometimes just crashing. If you looked at the process menu it would show that the multiple instances of Redline were not responding (even though the footage was still progressing). I was using full debayer w/ 1920x1080 scale. If I processed the files out via half debayer I could render 25ish rolls with no fault. Once a few of the bugs get worked out this program will be awesome.

From what I can tell OSX is sometimes not reporting the cpu usage properly so it appears to be running slowly when it's still running full blast. It very strange.

What about an option to save the converted file in the source folder?

+ audio
+ timecode burn-in
+ watch folder (auto detect new files)

Yep.. confirm that. Very strange.. compressor or batching out h264's for FinalCutServer does the same.

It changes every time also :-/ on the same box.. sometimes reports full.. max power captain...other times.. erm.. "I'm kinda working.." :-/

I've yet to get RedRushes working for me. Every time I load up clips and hit start the program hangs. I am unable to even force quit it. Running build 16 clips through with RSX from RedAlert on a quad Mac Pro. Any trouble shooting ideas?
