RED RAVEN! RED RAVEN! RED RAVEN!

[Patrick Tresch]

I think Jarred is a little fired up about RED RAVEN as well. When I showed up to RSH today, my desk is cover with these...

Stereoscopic aerodinamic cameras with integrated tripods stabilizers?

4k only is the new info!

its going to be awesome. i think knowing the Raven will be a 4K perhaps fixed 4k? helps speculate what the price might be. ive been telling all my friends who have been wanting their own red cam that this might be it! I for one am super excited.

It makes sense why it's 4k only -- if an 8k VV sensor doesn't pass QC, it can be cut into four 4k sensors for Raven (three potentially usable, and one "failed quadrant".) That'd reduce the risk/cost of 8k sensors substantially and makes for a super affordable 4k/120fps gateway drug camera... ...presuming the sensor is physically only 4k wide and not windowed/cropped.

anything more would have made people who just upgraded to weapon think twice about that. not to mention unhappy scarlet dragon owners, this is a gooooooood thing. will get more people familiar with red cameras.. this way i wont have to explain everything to every new crew member/client anymore!
