Also Sanjin - In the Blue Flower I kept moving the the camera so the frame is approximately the same. The distance from the flower ranged from app. 2' for the 25mm to app. 20' for the 300mm. The comparison posted above would go better with the Purple & Red Flower Bed (http://www.derylgroup.com/downloads/REDONE/LAGUNA/R3Ds/Flowerbed/), where I kept the camera stationary and as a result the frame got progressively closer and closer...
Would be great if we could pick a subject that we both have access to and execute a test in a controlled and (almost) identical conditions (background, lights, etc...). In fact this gives me an idea that I would like to work with You on:
Let's create such a test, so everyone out there with RED ONE can replicate the test with their own glass and we can keep comparing apples with apples. Talking about which:
Light - would have to be Sun of course. That would be the only light source we all share and have a access to. We would need to specify the AAH (related to time and location) and the relative sun position in regards to the subject.
Subject - I suggest a few common fruits and vegetables to cover saturated colors (such as red apple & tomatoes, yellow banana, green pear and bell pepper, orange carrot, etc...), something with neutral color but great texture (like a loaf of euro-style bread) and something with specular highlights (like textured glass full of water, steel cutlery, etc...)
What do You think?
Peter
Hi Peter,
agree about the test.
So when you are able just bring one set of RPPs here in Vienna and I'll try to organize a sort of test that
would maybe include some other cine lenses like Arri/Zeiss Master, Ultra and Compact Primes
or even to ask for Panavision Primo L (spherical) Primes.
Definitely we would need a sponsor for that event.
