  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Pro Prime set FAQs

Placed an order online for the RED Pro Primes around May of 07 when first ordered RED # 1888. Was wondering around what time should I expect delivery? Should we all be covered before June? Then NAB orders after June. That would be an impressive delivery rate. Been waiting a long while as everyone else for those lenses and getting it by this summer would sure be awesome.

Couple of hundred sets by June... regular production continues to clear up all NAB orders by end of Summer or early Fall.

Yea so, just curious, if you have a low res. # but have not placed a res. for a set of RPP back in 2007, are you going to send emails out to people asking them if they are IN or do they need to physically be in VEGAS to show that they are IN. Seems confusing..

THIS QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED BY JIM.

RED ONE customers have priority. Those that placed an RPP reservation "way back when" get extra consideration.

We are going up through the list by number and asking R1 owners if they have interest in a set of RPPs. I think they have one week to decide before losing priority. We sent out the 1st email last week (I think- Brent would know for sure).

This process will go much faster than the RED ONE or 18-85 zoom did. We are trying to learn from our brief past.

IVAN: NO THE QUESTION WASN'T ANSWERED.

As a Red owner, I have yet to receive an email from Brent. I'm assuming it's coming. That being said, Jarred said they would start taking orders on-line sometime next week. The question remains, should we wait for the email or make the order the moment it reaches the site?
 
Calm down, kids. Capitals mean yelling, and yelling means getting punched in the face.

And, as we all know, that's how we measure these things on this site. :)
 
By the way, I do feel guilty hounding these guys the Sunday before NAB, but I guess that's how much I want the lenses. :)
 
Good news about individual lens sales by fall.

How about opening up the pre-orders for individual lenses the same time as the set so we can get in line for when you move into that phase?

Or maybe just announce the prices on individual lenses. You might convince a few people to go for the set instead based on savings.

Only early serial numbers will get the emails this week from what I understand. The website will be live this week for RPP orders. You can play it safe by just putting in your reservation as soon as it goes live. We'll try to give you some notice when that will be.

Does it make any difference in the order filling, all other factors being the same, if a person orders the Imperial lens measurement version or the Metric lens measurement version? What ratio do you expect to sell between the Imperial and Metric versions? For those buying lenses ... are you going Imperial or Metric?
 
I'm a bit of a noob with lenses as I haven't had the chance to use a set yet. How ever would the RPP's perform better than the Mini-PP's on the 2/3" scarlet?
