RED Pro Prime set FAQs

nI just decided today not to go to Vegas.
I wonder though whether I need to be there to secure my position in line for my set of RPPs.
Will online reservations be counted in parallel with deposits placed at NAB?
Which will open first, online reservations or the order desk at the Rio?
If orders at the Rio opens first I'll be there!

I'm a bit of a noob with lenses as I haven't had the chance to use a set yet. How ever would the RPP's perform better than the Mini-PP's on the 2/3" scarlet?

Cheers

Jono

They are not going to be ideal as you will have no wide angle lenses when used on a 2/3 sensor.

Martin... you sound just like my accountant right before he tells me he needs to raise his fees. :-)

Brook... checking.

THE RIO is where its at for RPP, o if you dont show you are S.O.L and like everyone else, you will have to wait until 2010 for RPP lenses.

PSYCH!

if you read Jim Jannards posts he is pretty clear on order priority.
If you click on his name. then profile and search his thread posts... if you dont have time reading this site.

from what I remember its like this
1. Early Res #'s
2. Loyalists
3. Online ordering BEFORE party
4. RIO ordering

The rest of the world apologises:Yawn:

2.1kg = 4lbs, 10oz
2.8kg = 6lbs, 3oz

(according to Unit Convertor dashboard widget)
me likes don as good italian.. but this one is furthermore a better reply.

We'll take painstaking care to give everyone a fair shot at reservations this week, whether you attend NAB or not. But unlike the RED ONE, RPP reservations will be filled fairly quickly. Just get your order in this week if you are so inclined.

Hi Jim,

The lenses sound great. For those that cannot attend the Reduser party will you or is anyone else allowed to shoot it so we can all get a handle on the comparisons done?

Thanks
Paul

Paul... it is difficult to "shoot" a lens demonstration, but I'm betting that there will be a very clear picture painted by those that see the comparisons.

It shouldn't be too hard to film peoples jaws dropping, or the dude mopping up buckets of drool...

Jim, I assume you haven't started sending the emails, as we (dad nor I) have received an email yet in regards to the RPPs.

I am extremely interested in picking up a set and a big part of what factors into that is when EpicX is shipping (to know if I have the time to recoup the funds), will that be announced on Wednesday?

Orders for the Prime Sets will begin Wednesday at the REDuser Party. You will be able to order via Red.com.

There is a group of existing prime set reservations that we will honor first, then over the next week if you put in an order, the RPP's will be assigned in order of RED ONE serial numbers.

After the week is over (on April 29) Prime sets will be allocated in order your deposit is received, regardless of either existing prime reservation or RED ONE serial number.

Make sense?

Seems fair enough. Thanks, and look forward to seeing these lenses.

Existing RPP reservation holders will be getting an email today...

Jarred or I will post on REDUSER when the RPP are live on Wednesday.
