  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED PRO Mattebox

Ketch,

The standard Ultras are 95mm. The LDS Ultras are 104mm for the 16-135mm lenses. They have a larger barrel and bright green focus scales like the Master Primes.

So, Jim, how about a 104 clamp on? Or would an Arri Adapter ring work to get me to 104?

M

My bad, I got the info off my spread shit I got with the MP's, and the UP LDS show up as 95mm in most of the Focal, obviously I read it wrong ;)

Hahaha good "ketch" Curran!

Red user auto correct....

We are in the woods preparing for a coup... :-)

Jim

Whoa!, this is the best hint towards the BIG surprise at NAB. The secret (imho) is in the use of the word "Coup"

They have already taken over the digital image/film camera world... the only thing left is DISTRIBUTION - hence my guess is reinforced that at least 1 major studio has accepted Red Ray - Red 4K for digital distribution. Despite standards bodies work to be done, and so little chatter about one of the most important pieces of the 4K puzzle.

Back to RED PRO MB - great that it works with the 18-85 RPZ, any vignetting at 18?

Yup

So, how do we attach a bottom flag? We need the attachment pieces... Or are they included with the flag?

It was mentioned that a Full Kit price would be announced. I'm piecing it together, but would rather just pay the full kit price if you guys already know the amount

LOL, This is a MatteBox Thread.

I got to say I love this MatteBox because of price and weight.

I also love it because it has mount hole for future adaptations like swing away arms and others.

Done with Mattebox.

P. S. See the Ruby thread for Ruby info.

Ruby Thread Here. http://reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=726272&postcount=15

A little offtopic guys, but...

Do you like Ruby? Ketch? Michael T.? - What do you think about this zoom?

Duclos or Ruby? Any Thread on this topic? Wide Angle Option?

Thanks guys...

I'm waiting anxiously my RED MB too by the way

Light and beautifull.

Thank you RED.

Cheers

I'm well known for my shooting without a matte box. I'll continue to shoot a lot that way a lot, but I have to say after buying and using the Red matte box with Epic M8, I'm way glad we bought one. Its lightweight, strong, cool looking, relatively small, and I'll use it whenever I use lenses that won't accept screw-on filters, when I use cine lenses, or when I'm not so mobile and simply want to use a matte box.

IMO after using one, its a really nice piece of kit for a very good price...

Any info on side flags? I have a MB on order and I noticed in the pics that there is no connecting screws on the side for flags. Any info would be great. Thanks

I'm assuming the mounting bits for the side flags come with them. I'm going to order top, bottom and side flags once they're all available. Haven't seen an answer about the mounting pieces if we want to attach a bottom flag. I haven't asked my bomb squad guy yet, I guess I'll ask once the side flags are up for order.
