  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE M-X Sensor Upgrade Program

Any word on current times? It's been three weeks since I got the email asking where I wanted the camera shipped back to - Early July when it landed at Red.

I sent an email a week back asking for an update and haven't heard a thing. Have we slipped through the cracks or are there more delays?

We shipped camera 1517 Mid July for upgrade. Haven't got the camera back nor an indication of what the delay is! Christian at cmotion has enquired a no. of times but no response. Has handed it on to me to chase Anyone at RED care to look into it? Nick?

Holy hell. I picked up my MXed Red yesterday and grabbed some B-roll of a shoot my friends were doing. It was a tungsten shoot, flatly lit with a lot of medium gray, and I was shooting at 1000 iso on some slow but gorgeous glass.

My god. Its the cleanest footage Ive gotten from a red yet. Utterly noiseless. At ISO 1000, Tungsten. Shocking.

And the way that overexposure is handled is so gorgeous now when you rate it around 800 or 1000. The raw image isnt clipped at all and you've got so much room for elegant, controlled overexposure in post. Wow.
 
I am try to find some imformation about the RED MX sensor. How is the camera after we upgrade MX sensor? what is the highest resolution and framerate? Someone help me that.

This is gonna be the first time for us to send our camera for the MX Upgrade. Didn't really get how the procedure is once we have the notification from Nick. Does anyone can help me and explain the procedure? Such as when we'll know for sure when RED is ready to receive our camera. Thanks heaps, guys.
 
The Red team over at the MX facility were Nick and others tirelessly bake out one after an other MX Red One, is doing truly a remarkable job, with already 12 cameras out and more on the way, I just simply have no words to say "THANK YOU" for the hard work and attention to Customer service, just simply WOW!!

Since I have begin assisting Production on two Major S3D projects, and provide for two of the cameras that went to POTC4 I have been swamped with requests for more MX camera Kits.

RED is now nearing the 6000th Serial No. camera been upgraded to MX, and the word is out strong and loud, MX Kicks A%$#%@$ like no other Sensor ever did.. Sorry Mysterium you were no bad at all, but Big Brother MX kicks your A%#$@$ Ha Ha.


THANKS RED FOR THE INCREDIBLE JOB YOU CONTINUE TO DO IN PROVIDING SUCH SERVICE AND PRODUCT!!

You will receive an email with full instructions. Just follow all instructions to the letter and the process will be fast and YOU WILL BE AMAZED!

Got ours back this week. It's unbelievable how clean the images are! Just incredible.
 
#1809 back in germany with MX upgrade. Had the notification a couple of months but wasn´t able to upgrade due to jobs.

Camera was sent on 27th of July to Red an arrived on 29th at the Red MX upgrade facility. Red shipped the camera back on 17th of August inlcluding some extra days for a small repair.

Camera is still at customs and i hope to get it cleared on Monday, but from Reds side, perfect service and thanks to Nick and Brent to take care about everything.

My 'spend the cash on MX or save it for Epic stage 3.5' dilemma looms on the horizon... Another six months worth of cameras to receive the call-up yet.

I've flip-flopped on this at least three times; right now it feels like MX is the route. I could conceivably get upgraded inside the next couple of months, but stage 3.5 Epic looks like being a year away at least.

I know, I know, 'my diamond shoes are too tight' etc... which fabulous option do I take LOL.
