  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I just got my first email invitation from the folks at www.nabshow.com . Does anyone know if Red has made any plans to exhibit and if there will be any Red related announcements, events, or best of all: Taking reservations/deposits for Scarlet.

Last year, the Red talks and demos at the Adobe booth were fun and informative, but probably not the highlight of our trip because we are so good at finding fun in Vegas :coolgleamA:. We are trying to decide if we are going again.

This will be my first NAB. Looking forward to it!
 
I think it was said that they liked the way they did it this year and it actually hit their target audience better in some ways so they were going to see whether or not to continue with it or do a booth at NAB, can't remember exactly though but I'm sure someone will chime in with what was said and correct me if I'm wrong :)
 
I (hope) that this will be my first NAB in a number of years. Be nice to see the new toys before plunking down the next installment of $$,$$$.00 :)

The announcement said that around NAB we could expect (with change of course standard issue) me of the new cameras to e delivered (IIRC).

I'll be heading to NAB for the first time this year as well. Hoping to get some hands on with an Epic Body and accessories to better inform what I will be wanting.

I hope the RED party/event is on Monday this year. I'm only taking Monday and Tuesday off work and will fly out Tuesday night.
 
Also when do the free passes start popping up. I haven't bought a pass since every year as far back as I can remember free pass codes have been widely published. Is this a safe bet?
 
yeah I need info about passes and need to know which hotel to stay at?

very safe...they start popping up all over around February...

Torrey put one on the Silverado blog last year. I usually use the one posted on DVinfo, the Cow prints one. Et cetera....

hotel is easy - DON'T stay at Circus Circus!! i tried to save a few bucks, and it was NASTY...back to the Mirage
 
I'd wait until Red announces the Red party before booking a hotel, it was nice to stay there. I think it was Rio last year.

And Ketch...what parties do you hit up? :-). After last year a lot of us went up to roof top club and had a good time.

This year i want an invite to the AJA party!

Last years NAB/RED NAB was awesome. NAB was fun to go to but the one that RED put on was really the way they should do it from now on. That party on the roof of the Rio was awesome. I liked it how it was just a couple of us RED guys and then it was most of the RED staff along with a bunch of early camera adopters, like Mark from Offhollywood. Really looking forward to this next one.

Tom, listen to Shawn about waiting until the announcement is made where its going to be held because being able to go to the event by just taking the elevator down is really the only way to do it. Plus I'm sure most of the after parties are going to be in that same hotel.

I'l make a thread once I know for sure what is going on, and will have more specifics on both what will happen with the relocation of KETCHFRAME and available space, and planned celebrations for NAB, as well as hot spots, possibly creating a list of invites for it at a reduced entrance fee or something.
 
RED will NOT have a booth at NAB. RED WILL have a hall at a hotel, similar to last year. We had a blast last year and will try to beat it this year. There will be new M-X footage, and hopefully production (or working) EPICs and Scarlets, along with all the other new stuff.
