  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Komodo to get Face Detect AF

Can highly recommend faster USM motors vs STM ones… otherwise make sure lens is fully support by your camera :

I have the supported EF 24-70 II, but it really doesn't work for me. Box isn't finding anything and keeps losing connection and AF functionality. With the face detection off it works, but with it on, the box just bounce out to the lower side of the image and then stops pulling focus all together.

is this on Android or iOs ? Thanks for the feedback.

iOS, haven't tried it on my Hydrogen yet through. I've tried it a few more times and it has worked sometimes in super optimal conditions, but very often it loses consistency, even when it seems to work. I've used it with Komodo link in order to have a better feed because I guess it uses the phones face detection features to lock onto the faces?

Not knowing how it works, I'd guess that maybe a higher "tickrate" for scanning the image for faces? When using other apps the scanbox locking onto faces has a higher tickrate than the framerate of the video feed, so I dunno, maybe there's something in that to look into? If the face scan right now only goes per frame of the framerate?
